Haha, awesome, small world and all that! Yeah I study Graphic Design, going into my third year in September. How about you?
Every time I see the car I have a cheeky look, seems tidy. Gotta love the Williams.
Pointless, especially on a 1.2. I doubt that particular chip even does anything - probably just a dummy bit of plastic for a placebo effect...
Some diesels do respond well to tuning boxes (which aren't anything like that eBay 'chip'), but I still don't like them - would only really be a 'good'...
I'm keen on getting a bit creative and not going anywhere near any kind of transportation - seems like that would be the easy thing to go for and would probably get about 15 light trail shots otherwise?
Jeez! Did the van even bother slowing down at all for the roundabout? Doesn't look like it!
On a related note, I hate roundabouts, especially busy mini ones and those ones with traffic lights on, purely because no-one else seems able to use them properly. They're all accidents waiting to...
Agreed. I use it as my main computer for graphic design work, photography etc taking it around with me and it's fantastic. Very portable and I've never had an issue with the screen? Best one I've used on a laptop anyway. Sometimes would appreciate some extra screen real estate but that's only as...
Shock absorber(s)? When one of mine went it didn't feel connected to the ground at all, and that was a rear one! Did you replace the front shocks or for some weird reason only replace one? Also check the rears for signs of leaking. Probably a long shot but made a real difference to my handling...
Update: wipers seem to wipe once and wait for rain (as they should do when in auto) when I press hard on the plastic cover behind the sensor, above the rearview mirror. As soon as I let go however, they go back to normal intermittent mode. I had a look at the gel pack from the outside and part...
Hi,
Had my 182 a week or two now, and the auto lights have been working fine, but just discovered the auto wipers dont? In the 'auto' position they only wipe intermittently every 5 seconds, even if I turn them off and on again every time like the manual says.
My stalk has the sensitivity...
Just a quick update...took a quick picture of the shock that i'm suspicious of having gone a long time ago...
The other shock is clean, and there are no splash marks on the surrounding area to suggest this is just splash marks...also, it definitely looks like a drip down pattern than a splash up!
Thanks. Yeah I'm tempted to go ahead and do it anyway.
After today I see nothing else it can be. Alignment is bang on, nothing is visibly bent, snapped, damaged etc. as Powerstation had a very good look around. I assume they couldn't have tested shocks thinking about it as they didn't take...
Thanks guys. My symptoms seem exactly the same. Light, unstable handling mainly at the rear.
As I say, I only bought the car a week ago, and there is no mention of shocks ever being replaced in the fairly large history, so it may have been like it for some time!
Fair enough...I'm assuming then that skittish-ness over rough ground isn't really normal, stiff suspension combined with cheap tyres or not...I personally think it feels wrong for a car thats supposed to be so planted and 'chuckable'...because if it were normal, I'm fairly sure no one who drives...
I had a look, and the rear shocks look bone dry....one of them has a rusty coloured pattern on that looks like it could be dried liquid however. Also I'm sure Powerstation would've picked up on any liquid coming out of them, but I understand that they don't necessarily have to be leaking to be...
Wick - yup, they took an hour over it getting it perfect too, driving around etc. so I know that is bang on!
E11OOT - They said everything else was fine, but having not watched them 100 percent of the time can't be sure if they tested shocks...what's the deal with testing these? I know about...
I bought my 182 this time last week, and noticed the handling was skittish and there was steering wheel shake etc. so took it to get the tracking done at Powerstation. They set it up for road use and also managed to sort the rear tracking out (in a way - moved the axle round to line up properly...
Ahh ok, that makes sense. They told me 'the bloke who deals with suspension is in on Monday from 9.00 onwards' so I booked it for half 10....is 'the suspension bloke' likely to be Mr AST himself or not necessarily? Good to hear that too sir_dave. :)
Dan, the number I rang was for Powerstation. It gave me an automated telephone machine telling me press 1 for engine and servicing, 2 for Bosch motorsport and 3 for suspension...I pressed 3, spoke to a bloke and got booked in. I swear he answered the phone 'powerstation' but I wasn't really...
Recently got my 182 (pics and a proper introduction on the way after a good clean this weekend ;) ). Car handled very badly, felt skittish and was skipping and jumping around all over the place, not as planted and reassuring as I'd hoped. Took it to a local garage who did the tracking as it was...
Just in case anyone stumbles across this topic in the same situation I was in, RCI said they had no interest in the car and it was indeed a case of having not closed the account...they've now done this and are sending me a letter to confirm. Also, the National Mileage Register have sorted the...
Thanks again. The plan was through RCI (who I believe to be something to do with Renault), so suspect they'd be keen to get their money ASAP...don't think waiting a few years on the off chance of another payment is their style ;)
Thinking about it I don't think mycarcheck do outstanding finance...
Hi Steve,
Thanks a lot for getting back to me quickly, will do as you say.
The report says that the car hasn't had any previous plates. As the other check came back clear, what's the likelihood of there being a mistake? Especially as the plan was apparently a hire purchase plan, so would've...
Hi Everyone! One of my first posts of potential Clio ownership is a problem...typical!
I went to go and see a Clio 182 last weekend. The used car dealer selling it had a 'mycarcheck.com' data check report print out which was dated as being done recently, stating that all was clear. I paid a 250...
