I just had the rear shocks replaced for brand new ones and prior to having them fitted the traction control never kicked unless really hammering it around a corner in the wet.(very rare)
But it's every corner I take at more than 40/50 mph I get the traction control kicking in.
I am sure...
Been reading a few articles and it looks like the blow off valve should be closed at idle or cruise conditions, but mine is always open at idle....
Can anyone confirm if it should be closed?
Need a quick decision as it will probably be done tomorrow or next few days.
Around £160+VAT for ceramic coating the turbo.
I have been told there are no draw backs, but is it worth me doing on the 182?
This leak has been on my car since I had the engine rebuilt in January, but the garage and me couldnt find out where it was coming from until now...
I have found that it is coming from the back of the engine drivers side near the exhaust manifold.
I dont want this to turn into a slanging...
Anyone know any online shops to get some super strong studs.;)
My current exhaust manifold to turbo studs keep vibrating loose, so got some k nuts, nord-loc anti vibration washers and some anaerobic threadlocker on my wish list. Just got to find the right stud material now. I am not too...
These are my own decals on ebay. I make these myself and can offer them in yellow, red, white, silver, blue or carbon fibre as in the auction:

I just finished fitting my apexi avcr boost controller. The wastegate actuator used to control at around 12.5psi, now I want to use the boost controller. Am I right in thinking I will need to get a different actuator with a softer spring to allow better boost control?
Please no one say get a...
I have refilled the coolant system and wonder why there is only a small trickle of water back into the header tank when the engine is running? Is this normal?
Also, the level was going up and overflowed when I switched engine off, then dropped back down after a little while. What causes this...
Everything went dead on the clio. The doors wouldnt lock, took alot of effort for the motors to lock the doors.
So I thought battery is dead. Took it out and it measured 10V, charged overnight and it's now on 11V and not rising. So think my charger might be knackered.
I just stuck it in the...
As my car is turbo'd...
I still have a couple of issues maybe linked maybe not. The brakes never really bite that hard and I dont think the abs has ever kicked in.
Also have had intermittent problems with high idling around 3000+ and it keeps climbing. This is cured by sticking in 4th gear...
This is a real anoyance as I have been trying to clean the engine bay and every time I open the bonnet after a journey I see there has been a coolant leak from the cap and sprayed a little over the rest of the engine bay.
I was wondering what would cause this?
Would it simply be a knackered...
Right, thought I would start a thread as I have decided to keep my car and start cleaning her up a bit.
Nothing special to start with, but want to track the progress.:)
I have started to strip out the engine bay and give it a proper clean and try and stop some of the pipes rubbing against...
I am about to start stripping the engine bay apart again to check all the engine mounts. Also want to look at sorting my heatshield out too as there is not alot of clearance.
Anyone know where all the fixing points are?
I need a big one for the turbo, something similar to the viper which is closed so I can put the inlet away from the engine heat.
At the moment I have a huge green cone filter sitting next to the engine sucking in all the hot air which cant be too good.
I am also looking at airboxes off...
Is there much space there?
this pic got me thinking...
I think that is under the rhs?
I need to find space for my datalogger and the engine bay is very cramped at the moment.
I have removed the rear disc and bearing assembly.
inside my new wheel bearing pack there is the circlip, nut and bearing which I know should be there.
But there is a rubber washer/boot thingy in the new pack too. There isnt any rubber bit visible on the disc and bearing assembly.
where...
Tried to race me this afternoon, not that I had much of a chance, glad I didn't give chase like usual as he overtook me on a long blind bend in between two cars going opposite directions straight towards a cop car!
pwned!!!!
I can't find a guide on here. I went to try this afternoon and got to my first hurdle, I need to get a bloody big socket.lol.
Any advice on how to do the whole job would be great. Are there any more special tools I will need?
Tried my local auto factors with no luck, anyone know where I can get some hose and inline hose joiner asap?
It needs to be extremely high temperature as it goes into my turbo. The current one has deteriorated with the heat.
sounds like air being sucked into the coolant somewhere, plus a little white stuff under the oil filler cap. Is this normal after an engine rebuild.
Plus I can definitely smell coolant out of the exhaust. :dapprove:
Just want some reassurance it's not the obvious.
And can you guys give...

Would this fit in the back of a V6?
