BBT's shortshifter is definately different, Dave from BBT was on here a while ago about it, it certainly looks it from the pic of my old B&M and theirs (on ebay 8020639102)
have to disagree on the 'halves the shift time', it does 'feel' quicker tho, do agree on not rushing the change & altho i dont rush it its more of an effort not to if it makes sense, had mine on for 2 1/2yrs, some days it felt great; slick & tight, others it was tiresome, stiff to change gear...
direct from pipercross, wash through from the clean side to the dirty side, dont just dunk the whole thing. as above says let it dry naturally no radiators etc. the instructions that come with it are pretty good.

depends on usage, mine are firm but not harsh but can be adjusted, as for being necessary it depends on how you like your ride eh, im running KW's (v2), handling is very good.
ya i thought that duck, just wanted to know if one was better or any slight differences between the 2, as i like the look of the mk1 but if it has been improved on the mk2? my old mk2 stick is missing in action at my dads :-(
