Brun - i can get these for £44 a corner (eagle F1s 195/50/15s GD3s) "FITTED & BALANCED" thats not trade prices either. Elite motorsport in Essex, give um a call.
Chris,
If your thinking about going for a 2ltr convertion then you cant really afford to be fussy, ie going for a willy lump or a megane BE - both will be very hard to come by. You really need to buy whats going about at the time. It wouldnt have mattered which was offered at the time i was...
Sadly not Vix as i sold mine alittle while back. With so many champion wins under its belt i had people in a long que asking after it.
Being serious tho - its an an ideal convertion for anyone with 1.4 or a fcuked 1.8 / cambelt damaged engine. I dont think youll have any issues selling it m8.
Smokey, Glenn - why dont we all meet up together? Your coming down on the 31st anyway? we could all meet and go for a few test drives etc. Would like to see how you do Vs my 2ltr Smokey ;):devilish: Glenn can film it from his little gimpy 1.8 lol ;)
Im not sure "how" true it is - but when ever i hear the word "tracker" people always say that once parked in the back of a HGV transporter - a tracker cant pick up the signals anyway. So by the time you have logged the call - your motor on its way across seas. If thats the case, then £1000 is...
TBT - its not "that" much quicker Glenn, its just the power is more effort less then the 16v. You notice more coming out of corners etc. From about 70mph onwards it seems to pull hard... hard to explain really
Glenn - i love the sound of the free Mcd idea m8!! :D Tho i cant really do it during a weekend (well not this week anyway) im going to Elite Motorsport on saturday, fancy coming with me for the ride? im having my tracking done and 4 new goodyear F1s fitted.
Glenn - you wont get any performance gains with a BE rebuild fella! in fact you will get reverse! These engines perform better with age - all the williams with 70k + are hitting well above 150bhp even as standard. Remeber also that you will have to run it in with a complete rebuild, at 66k its...
yeah my fault - 15-50 fully synthetic is what im using (i think) ill check tonight. Nick Hill used a slightly thiner oil when i had some work done there. Ive since changed the filter and slap in some fully synthetic.
sounds to me that the noise could still be your injectors m8. How do u mean "...
Nice one Mitsi !!!! looks sound m8! (how much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking? / what miles has it seen?)
Nice colour too - welcome to the (very select) black valver owners club ;)
Rossa, ive got the same problem, tho i havent rebuilt my head or replaced the followers. Im told the tapping noise could actually be coming from the injectors! The sound is very much like a sticky tappet sound but this may not be the case. (i even replaced my oil with 10-40 GTX which is thicker)...
the idea of the bolt sounds interesting - as crono said, can you not just drill a bolt throw and nut & bolt each end? It does sound a dodgy mind - how much for a new column?
Luner - i cut a 1.5mm thick (in a ring shape) of MDF (momo supply you a stencil ring to draw round) - this then comes flush with the door cards and the MOMOs cover the MDF. Speakers then screw into into the MDF -> into drilled holes in the door. This helps stop vibration too.
Al - there...
Raiderman - i tried once before to change the oil filter myself - it was nightmare, had to get on ramps etc, couldnt grip the filter to remove it etc etc..
Id sooner pay £30 not have hassel you know - what with the bad weathernall too.
