The ABS maybe an issue if your current 16v in non-abs standard. It could also be linked into the ECU so id say no. (ABS is for pussys anyway)
Yeah - get a hillpower chip if you can m8, rather then buying the williams one. The willy engine can be run on the 16v ECU - tho i wouldnt advise this...
It would be nice to keep the williams box, but you dont "need" it as such. My lump runs run with the 16v box - it just means your be doing higher revs in 5th drinking more juice then you would with a willy one. 5th on the williams is taller - plus i hear its tougher then the 16v. Depends how...
Rajk, that sounds alittle worrying mate. My willy lump is chipped to rev 6750 with a hill power stage 1 chip - this is what Nick advises is a safe limit for the williams, i know people that have there willys chipped --> 7k but never heard of one going to 8,5k!! thats mad. It sounds as if your...
if after uprating your suspension you are thinking of lowering your car, make sure you lower the front slightly lower then the back. Alot of these so called "tuners" lower your back and front so its scraping along to floor thinking they have done a good job - when infact its totally screw the...
BBPT advise the valver as being the better foundation for a turbo convertion than a williams. I think this is becuase of the valver uses a steel crank - the williams doesnt. The fact a valver can rev higher / harder then a williams too. There are more technical reasons then just this, but the...
my insurance needs to be renewed this friday, best quote so far was from elephant.
me :- 23yrs old, 5yrs NCB, Clean license,
the car :- 2.0ltr 16v + stage 1 mods declared.
The price :- £575
Very good i thought.
oh - fair play then chip. Your best bet maybe to speak with someone like Nick Hill, i still think you should get a 2nd oppinion on someone elses rollers tho.
Chip - what with that kind of turn out id have to question there rollers m8. Gazza who owns a willy 3 made 186bhp with the same mods you have listed. Tho u dont have your head / manifold ported and polished which he had done.
When Cliosport went down to BBPT for the RR session, most willy...

My understanding was the torsion bar acts as down force / allowing you to adj ride height, where as the trainling arms soak the bumps acting like suspension / spring, hence the term "trailing arm" making up movement.
Hello m8,
Well ive got a chipped willy lump, ive so far clocked 330miles on a full tank with enough juice to keep me going aittle longer!! Its my first tank since my convertion so ive not been shy with it at all!!! Been booting it every where getting used to it.
When i calm down abit ill...
and to add - for insurrance reaons too! There is no way of telling the 2 part visually, im sure if i bought a williams id be paying alot more then what i am with my mods declared.
Not really, the cost would have worked out the same. £4k for my valver 2yrs ago + £1300 for the engine work. So £5300 and its mint! as anyone who has seen my valver will tell u.
In any case - its a "sin" to mod a williams! A williams should be left factory standard. A williams in a 16v makes...
Yeah im with the RAC too - decent service they offer.
I took my spare wheel out last weekend - took the cage out too. Didnt feel any different but having said that im still getting used to the car. As alot of people say its dead weight which you can do with out. Tyre foam / RAC is the easy...
