Ben - get it chipped !!! This lump of mine revs just as high as my 16v did (well almost 6,750k! Im in love with my valver at the moment, i was having doubts before hand that the money wasnt going to justify the improvments - but since leaving Nick Hill workshop ive never looked back!
Its only...
Maxiboy - what sort of power is your clio running, where did u have the work done? any pics?
Sorry for so many questions, i have a thing for the maxi clios..
Sorry to hear about your problems m8, I think youve just been unlucky tho. If you have spent £1100 already, then another £75 aint going to hurt. If u try and fit it yourself you may end up bleeding to death with broken knuckles and cuts.
i got Renault to pay for mine in full!!! Cable after cable i paid for (well 2 in total lol) then Renault they told me they had a peddle to correct the fault. A new peddle and cable fitted came too £127!! i suggested this should have been a recall to which the bloke just went all quite.
Spoke...
remember Ratty, my engine was not fully rebuilt. It was taken straight from a willy 3 -> into mine. The actual INTERNALS have not changed. Maybe this is why?
Im also using my own manifold and gearbox.
I know his work isnt cheap - but remeber he has overheads and a living to be made. You...
Well the convertion cost me £1350, this included the engine and fitting. So allnall not too bad. I had alot of other stuff done aswell tho, like news parts inc clutch, water pump, uprated dogbone, stage 1 chip, 2 wheel bearings, new heat sheild... loads of stuff. Worked out about £1850. I think...
Thats ok if your locking wheel nut is in the shaped like a "nut" some use a key, abit like the delock keys people use to secure there bikes. Most decent locking nuts have this sort of design.
Cheers clare, i think the sensor plugs into the sump... ill try cleaning - if no joy ill replace the pump. Its not worth pissing about with for £45 quid. Looks easy to fit aswell.

i didnt say anything to nick cuz i didnt really notice until i left...
Hello all,
Can anyone confirm the oil pressure levels from verious revs? Ive come from a clio 16v that has always had good decent oil pressure from all revs.. ie,
2 thirds indicated on the oil gauge from a cold start in the morning on idle, and say half full @ 60MPH - 70MPH on motorways...
Well boys and girls, today was the day i picked up my much missed 2.0ltr 16v from Hillpower!! After being without her for over a week and driving a 1.1 Micra hire car every where! You can imagine my eagerness to get behind the wheel of my valver!!
Got to the workshop this morning, saw my baby...
But your thinking along the right lines Smokey, i only went for the williams convertion becuase
a. Cambelt change & service was costing me £380 (renault wanted £500 or something silly)
b. Even tho the 72k miles on my engine are all motorway miles, the clutch has gotta be chnaged at some...
This may sound odd, but when it comes to lowering on clio 16vs/willys its best to lower the front and just leave ride height std at the back. This is how Nick Hill has his, and im hoping for a demo this saturday! :D
My clio is lower at the front then it is at the back and it croners lovely...
Ivan, whats the story there? What made you decide to go back to the 172 rather than getting a another williams/valver? i thought you had seen the light!
Explain yourself!:devilish:
Good question - i got a deposit from someone on here, since then ive not heard back from him! looks like its going to be back up for sale if he dont come forward.
lol - i have a micra at the moment too. Its a hire car while my williams lump is fitted @ Hillpower. Cost me £99 to hire for the week. It feels like a boat round corners & braking hard. Still it gets me from A -> B. i keep my head down at traffic lights cuz it look so silly - i can feel...
have you checked to see 17s will fit? Dont quote me but you have have to mod your arches to get them under there. From what i remember you have lowered your motor too, so id say 16s, if you can get them to fit - 17s. (rubber works out about the same)
anyone notice a change after fitting 16s (195/45/16s) as an upgrade from 15s (195/50/15s)
Im thinking about some 16inch speedlines shortly, put i dont wunna shoot myself in the foot.
