With mine it will not start first time but wil always start second time. i think on mine its an immobiliser trait. If I turn to position 2, wait 3 secs, then turn, it always starts first time.
Have you tried that?

..that 4k rattle thing, Ive just developed it too. Cars done about 12k miles. Is it defo the exhaust section that needs replacing or just a mounting/heatshield that can be adjusted?
I dont like putting my car into the dealer unless i have to, they wind me up with their incompetence.
Example...
what about mer? or is that old hat? im not really into polishing but find it quite good and can be applied wet or dry.
i was told by some guy from a body shop that its good cause it doesnt wear away your laquer like apparently auto glym does...
oh dear, whatever next...
spend the money on some driving lessons and then buy a can of deodorant and a lighter off the market for 25 pence, and hey presto, a flamer kit..
:o
And Renault are talking crap, its against EU anti competitive law. Whoever you spoke to has been misinformed, like you said, you are obliged to get work done by a competent person and use genuine Renault parts.

In my opinion, in standard trim, and having read reviews of both and raced them on the strip/road, there is very little in it in terms of either straight line or cornering.. a 0.5 secs/lap difference round one track could be down to the single run or the tyres suitablility for the conditions...
i hate to back the honda bod but ive heard that the ctr is basically an s2000 engine in a slightly milder state of tune with a restricter in or near the exhaust manifold, and apparently removal of this can give an extra 15-20 bhp....
in standard trim there is very little in it.
the honda is...
directline best for me too.
how old are you becks/ncb etc?

p.s. youre not in stockport are you, ive seen a modded one knocking about with a chick drivin...
rather than messing about trying to get and extra 5 or 10 bhp out of my girl, i figured the main problem with quarter miling is the traction with front wheel drive.
does anyone know whether its against the rules to swap for slicks on the front for example, or is it just not in the spirit of...

when i went to santa pod i was equally confused with relationship betweesplit times/final speeds and quarter mile times.
sound like good times to me if its accurate and flat, my best was 15.06 in 3 runs at the pod. i had the same problem with 3rd gear but i would change into 4th about...
fruitless argument, the m3 is a fair bit faster. i know its not the be all and end all but comparing power/weight:
cup approx 175bhp/tonne (depending on which weight you believe)
m3 (343bhp, 1570kg) = 218 bhp/tonne.
still i think potential for a race providing there are no significant...
anyone know where i can get a detector cheapish. I was in a taxi at the weekend pissed up (as you do) and this taxi driver was saying his was 70 quid and he swears by it. I cant afford to get any more points so will prolly have to get one.
Anyone got one that they could recommend?

its the car, not the driver, i hired one of those one day to carry some of the family about and found myself going into boy racer mode for some reason and trying to out brake people and stuff!!!
Recently my cup has started searching between 1-2k from cold, usually only for a couple of minutes but it never used to do it.
Also, it kind of feels like its driving itself for the first couple of minutes and the throttle is kind of jerky, feels like its retarded. It does go if i put my foot...
Oh, theres little me, just missed the thread.
Ordered July, took delivery 1st October, age 29, paying 830 f.c. with 4yrs ncb, and a few points for good measure. Shes done about 6.5k now and warming up nicely...

It is against European law for them to make you have your servicing done at a main dealer. You are quite correct, that as long as genuine parts are used and the servicing is done in line with renaults intervals, then your warranty will be valid.
