I bought my cup for frequent track use where ABS is annoying. I have also been driving for 22 years, including tense moments with and without ABS. thats not the same profile as the guy who was asking about ABS. He was asking for normal road use, and for that ABS is better in almost every condition.
Other cup drivers may not agree with me, but I think you should get ABS. Under all normal road circumstances, ABS is definitely a bonus. If you need to make an emergency stop, you need to slam on the brakes and keep manoeuverability and ABS will give you that. A lot of accidents happen because...
have a look at http://www.demon-tweeks.co.ukwww.demon-tweeks.co.uk, chose the pads you want and we get a discount of 10% as members of cliosport (check the members section). You can also get them from many different places including k-tec, http://www.grandpri.comwww.grandpri.com etc
not the one I am getting (Omex sequential shift light). I need to connect it to a coil negative. Any ideas if the clio 172/cup runs a single or twin coil negative?
I know coil will be fine, but it would be a lot more practical to get the signal off the fuse box and avoid all the messing around with cables through bulkhead etc. Anybody with a fusebox wiring diagram?
I need +12v, ground and tacho input for a shift light. Can a renault guy tell me if I can get the +12v and tacho off the standard fuse box inside the car (cup) or do I need to get it off the coil in the engine bay with the wiring hassle that involves?
Many thanks
at the top, its secured on the induction elbow to the TB. At the bottom, the induction hose fits very tightly towards the bottom of the engine bay. You then use a tie clip going through the metal arm above the battery (theres a conveniently situated hole just for that) and thats it.
I have a proper Mocal , black 90degree bend I used for 2 weeks on my car. Its cut to exactly the right dimension to fit a CDA. The only thing is that it doesnt have a breather pipe connection and youd need to separately connect the breather pipe to a small piper cranckase filter (about 2"...
no but its very simple. get the BMC SP08 instead of the std BMC. Its shorter and allows a better installation. The trick is then to install it as near vertical as you can (45 degrees on mine) with the hose going towards the bottom, feeding through the lower front grille. The supplied hose...
Do you mean the DS2500? If so Ive driven clios equipped with them and theyre very good. Not as aggressive as PF pads though. The other slight downside is that they produce a lot of bake dust.
I would recommend DS2500 although they need careful run in. A better but more expensive option are Pagid blue pads or performance friction pads, both will cost £120-£140. A lot of people on this site have used the K-tec kevlar pads and swear by them I havent. Theyre very cheap in comparison to...
Had a short chat with a Frenchman at sadev, and he said they do have an LSD that would fit the standard 5 speed H box, but he would not recommend doing that as he has concerns that the gears inside the box may not be up to handling a locking LSD. he reckons that it would definitely not be a good...
ps just called gripper and the LSD they have is for R5GTTs and earlier clios like the williams. Basically its designed for a press fit crown wheel and I dont know if thats compatible with a cup/172. Any views?
I have the original cat on mine, and I had to keep a mid silencer on the SS exhaust to keep the noise below 98 dBA for track use. The only way to check is to get somebody with a noise meter. If you are running decat and have no mid silencer, good luck . Although 101 is pretty high. Is it...
its a piece of foil about the size of an A5 page with a plastic clip on the back. It cant cost a lot but fitting it is a complete pain in the backside...
