Does something on the options page (F2 or F11) have to be changed?

Yes.I changed my HD and had to buy a SATA / IDE converter...but its plugged in correctly.The converter plugs into the terminal that the current HD is using. I read on the net that there can be a lot of problems using Vista when a nonse like me is doing it !!
