Some1 in For Sale is selling williams bits and has spoiler. Got one for my valver recently and just suits car better than big spoiler or the horrid grey thing that was standard.
Looked at these too before plumping For FK Automotive ones. For that kind of quality wuld check H&R, FK and KW.
For me would come down to availability, price, warranty and whether or not TUV (tested on car). Think they will all be much of a muchness but make sure they are fitted competently.
Got mine fitted a year ago and helped replace the 7 year old OE suspension that was probably tired. Lowered 1 spline at back and a little lower at front.
Ride is more rigid and solid. Corners so much better and just seems to handle better until things get really rough.
If near midlands can...
Always get mine done there for £15 including Duckhams QXR semi and filter.
Now they are doing fully sythetic Visco 7000 and filter for £25. Think its BP oil so cant be too bad.
Bit to Magnum PI for me the 328. Did like the 348 was it called, the one before the 355. Trouble is these days a MR2 with a bodykit can look like a Ferrari and probably go like one so dont think a Ferrari is all that special.
IMO a Porsche is a sounder car for fun and day to day running, and...
I did a lot of research into coilovers when I got mine. Looked at posts by others etc. Pleased with my FK Automotives and think I was one of the first to get them. Just cuz no-one has had a certain brand doesnt mean they are no good.
Look for:
TUV approved, which basically means they are...
Had BB chip and it is good, makes drivability better. Not at new price though, £350 is too high for a chip not matche dto the individual car. All I was asked was what petrol I used and it was mated to IK and exhaust mods.
For little more you can get programmable chips like the SMT6 (speak to...
I personally dont think there is a make that is good at everything, just like with home hifi. Id keep checking ebay as you can get some bargains at silly prices. Budget for a good speaker cable too if u havent already.
As you have an alpine set up already it may be safe to go down that...
Yeah £425 was from a dealer who sold me a supersprint manifold on here. Next cheapest I found was Carnoisseur at £450 with club discount. If you tell people what you have been quoted they try to beat it. We get discount at speedline too but Carnoisseur were cheaper.
Sounds a good price as cambelt change is circa £130 plus VAT so not paying much more for the cams and would be healthy for many miles to come. Then top off with a chip to help everything and have fun.
If cambelt change etc is due soon then going down the cam route will kill two birds with one stone so a good idea.
Id basically spend the money on making it as freash as possible. No good spending money on performance mods and then have something go and cost money to fix that could have been...
Think u will find every1 will recommend Eagle F1 GSD3s by Goodyear.
I have them combined with Bridgestone So2s and they are good. Would think about Bridgestone RE050 which is their top tyre as they get good reviews too but not many people have them. Bridgestones may be better in the dry and...
Northampton motorsport inc laser tracking etc.
They sorted out a camber problem for me and commented that they were fitted well from performance driven who I bought them off.
Got mine for valver inc free fitting from performance driven in Taunton. Set up was pot on. Think they either offer free fitting or discounts. Great people.
Most garages quote nearly 12 hours for this job. Threads before have more detail but basically:
Job depends on how it is done, either engine out (longest) or subframe removed or something from underneath to gain access. Got mine done for 200 quid labour and OE clutch was about 50 quid from...
Was gonna say about 20 quid from GSF remember VAT is added. Although 16v bearing may be dearer. Anything from 45-90 mins to fit. Depends on how bad the old one is too remove I think.
If you are lucky enough to have another car to use, winch to lift engine out, all tools and somewhere to do it I would take your time and do it yourself. Its the labour charge that is the killer.
I have the winch and tools but no spare car, place to do it or perhaps enough patience.
At...
If you are doing this yourself good luck. Think a post on here a few weeks ago mentioned someone doing their water pump themself.
Cambelt change circa £130 plus VAT from KTEC/BB etc and water pump can be done at the same time but labour intensive due to lack of room for both jobs. Id...
You cant rely on petrol addititives as I believe these stop you injectors from getting in that state and are more preventative than corrective.
I have found that the STP stuff is very good but nearly 12 quid a bottle. Should only use every 6k. Used redex and there are two types so check...
Only other thing I can think of is the pads, were they new or old. If you are using old pads with new disks the pads may have worn into the old disks, if you know what I mean. So shape would be better suited to those and may not work so well on your new Tarox. If the pads are new, ignore me.
I would definately say it is the glaze on the disks. Mine tend to rust a little when not used in the rain. This obviosuly wears off when u brake but think they have some nice coating that makes them look nice when new. I would go down some country lanes or quiet roads and drive with a few...
