I had very similar trouble a week or so ago. It turned out to be a battery terminal not donr up tight enough. Were only talking 2/3rds of a turn, but it solved all my non starting problems, and intermittent battery light flickers.
Id definately check that 1st, has to be screwed right down, not...
I definately wouldnt let that go. Has wound me up just reading it. If you dont do him or his car ill come up from Aylesbury and do it for you. Difference being ill make sure there in the car whilst I damage it. ill reverse my tatty work van, tow bar first into the front of there car. Then when...

Ive called for a doctor Dash, hes on his way.
Its my sis who has the Saxo although she has seen the light and is selling it. Just need to persuade her to buy my valver and then I can get my cup!!
You can buy it over the counter at Renault. Thats where I get mine from.
Costs £30 but is enough to do 2 cars and only needs doing once a year. Although they do say it lasts longer. Works unbelievably well.
If anybody wants any let me know and I can always purchase it and post it. Obviously...
Im sure mk 2 172 offset is et48.
16v, mk1 172 and cup are et38.
So putting et38 on would affect the handling a fair bit. Shame to screw up the handling of a fine car!!
Seems to be a lot of immobilisers packing up at the minute. ive just had the same with mine, would work intermittently sometimes 2-3 weeks without a problem, then play up for a day. Got it sorted on tuesday though. Just get your keys re-coded which should cost £30ish unless like mine they winged...
Will have a look about tonight for this key under the glove box then and give it a go. Just had my keys coded on tues and get a yrs warranty on it ;).
Renault my keys have stopped working, sort it NOW!!!!! It just isnt good enough. (while scotts :devilish: trying not too laugh)
Clifford take them out also.
Getting mine taken out next week. Couldnt do it when I had my Clifford fitted 2 yrs ago. But now they have the know how.
Dont let them bum rape you.
Is it with a Reanult dealer or a independant garage? Renault told me they are the only people who can code the...
Battery was fully charged 2 weeks ago but then it has sat there since waiting repair. Only fixed on tuesday. been ok since then just this morning started flickering. Will see how it reacts when I drive it home seeing as it hasnt moved since tightening up the battery terminal. Albeit 2/3rds of a...
Dont think so chavyboy.
Is that the standard Renault immobiliser your talking about?
I know if you press the accelerator down the immobiliser light stops flashing. Something to do with a series of presses or something which overrides the immobiliser but ive yet to meet anyone who knows how...
Just had my keys re-coded on tuesday. £60 I paid and thats expensive. They charged me for a hours labour because they had trouble coding the keys with the clifford alarm on there so had to discnnect it and re-code it. Argued the point with them but had to pay it.
Check out the fuse as Wongy...
I only got the car back tuesday. Its been sat on my driveway for 3 weeks. The throttle cable rubbed through a battery cable and earthed the car out, losing all the key codes and melting the throttle cable and also killing my new battery. So after doing the work myself and waiting for Renault to...
Also they really dont care about them either. Leave them anywhere and do anything with them. Unlike us who give our lesser cars lots of TLC. And surprise all of the mentioned cars when it comes to a bit of a tear up!!
