Thanks Ed,
The cambelt change has lifted a weight from my mind... sensible move tho, ill change it again at 72k.
Integrale & track day talk sounds fun mate, wish i had the money to do enjoy expensive hobbys :( investing in a 16v again for the track days is the way forward, wouldnt worry to...
LOL @ Glenn..
Since stealing Glenns star buy, he found another and is the same colour as mine! Glenn has since forgiven me, with the fact he has the best interior any clio owner could wish for!!!! :@
we are good mate now..
Ed!! Good to hear from you mate!!!
The valver is fine... its not skipped a beat since the day you sold it to me!! when i bought her i think it had 42k miles?! now it has 64k miles and still feels as tight as the day i bought it!
Since ownership Ed, i have had :-
1. broken clutch cable...
They have broken all rules, The clio is hatchback, and should stay a hatch back.. its not as if they dont have enough cars to cover the saloon range. Megane springs to mind...
Those people @ Renault are alittle worrying...
sounds ok, however trust your first impressions when you go look it over. Make sure you get a full HPI check also, last thing you want to do is get caught with your pants down buying a willy, ;)
TonyKL, are joking or being serious?!
i know they call them magic trees, but ive never heard of them melting some ones dash before!
You wasnt muching on a bag of mushrooms at the time was you? ;)
if your new to the renault clio 16v, then yes you will find the clutch heavy, compared to other cars i found this to be a shock, you soon get used to it... This is a very small inconvenience to owning a sports car / hot hatch, they have to be like this to cope etc. However if your saying you...
Lee its ok, i had this problem, all you do is remove the plastic gromit that the clutch ped rests on (in its released postion) removing the gromit allows the self adjuster to take up the slack in the cable. you will find the clutch ped will come up above its normal height (slightly higher then...

me and a mate was working out power to weight ratios.. come up with the following (evidently these figures are not spot on, but near enough)
Clio 172 with a kerb weight of 1035KG, with 172bhp = 166/tonne
Clio Williams with a kerb weight of 980KG with 150bhp = 153/tonne
Clio 1.8 16v...
are spacers really safe tho? not sure id take kindly to a high speed corners knowing my wheels are bolted to a ally spacer! what effects do they have on handling?! if any?
halifax are part of ESURE.. very good insurance company... think i was quoted £630.. fully comp + windscreen cover. (im 22 with 1.8 clio 16v)
i was very happy!! no hassles with documents not being sent out etc.. customer services are also very polite.
esure all the way baby....
Once the back end is out, you can only try planting your toe until you come to a straight, forcing the weight to the back. However if your finding that your understeering badly towards a kerb as a result like you said... you can only do as suggested by 2live, ease of the gas alittle to support...
good question steve, my alloys are just std on the valver, looking to get them changed in the near future.
anyone know of a place that will part exchange your old alloys for new? ive got some brand new 15inch torsons with brand new 195/40/15s tyres from my old escort... would be nice to know...
I would totally disagree with this.... (if we are talking about the same tyre here?! "Toyo Proxy T1s".. not sure how long youve been using toyos for steve!?
Very grippy in the dry!!, same if not better the F1s!! however in the wet... totally useless... and i dont push my car too hard in the...
i agree with Ben... your mate deserves to loose if he hasnt worked out that after 4k of revs you are forced back in your chair. it doesnt take long to work out where the power curve is kept.
