  172 exclusive no 172

I need to pick somebodies mind...

just fitted new clutch cable from renault but cable seems to be to long?? The cable is located in the hole behind the clutch pedal correctly and the cable is routed correctly through the engine bay.

Have pumped the clutch pedal few time and seems ok until the car started. then when try to engage any gear crunches :(

Any help please !!!!

Oh and the clutch and gear box have been replaced in the last year...

the clutch does seem a bit heavier but i think that is cos i have changed the cable.. could it be a problem with the cams on the top of the clutch pedal ??

because it is as if the cable isnt being pulled far enough to disengage the clutch from the plate..

Lee its ok, i had this problem, all you do is remove the plastic gromit that the clutch ped rests on (in its released postion) removing the gromit allows the self adjuster to take up the slack in the cable. you will find the clutch ped will come up above its normal height (slightly higher then brake and gas ped)

after this has taken place (engage the clutch a few times) you will here the adjust clicking away like mad. Then replace the gromit... this "will" correct the problem.
