Is the top speed of the cup any higher than that of the 172? because as far as I know drag-coefficient only really affects top end

The only way youll know for sure is to park a 172 and a lower spec clio next to each other and compare. I happened to park my mk1 172 next to a mk1 1.4 last night while getting some fish and chips and there is a marked difference in the wings. the arches are definately more flared

what size wheels and what tyres do you have on your car? I had 195/50 15" Pirelli P5000 on my 1.4 16V Clio and Id get tramlining but it was never twitchy.

is the steering wheel in a mk1 172 supposed to have a suede like finish (like the alcantara on the seats) or is it supposed to be smooth? Ive been reading reviews etc and a few mention the nice "fuzzy" steering wheel. Mine is smooth?
