Yes you can multiply torque in gearing, but this will absorb power. You have missed the point.
Final drive ratio is this simple, you have a flywheel creating 172 BHP output power. If you drive the output at the same revolution as the engine, i.e one rev of engine equals one rev of wheel, the...
All motors are tuned to the limit these days, gone are the times when a K&N filter and a Kent cam got you 30 BHP out of your MK2 escort for less than a hundred nicker.
Turbo is the way for more of a HP gain, then you need the water injection to stop it frying if you run high boost all the...
Go for the Storm if you can find one, stronger residuals, better kit. Do not touch one that even looks like its been painted, they dont hold up to well in front enders, tends to do the steering and all sorts, this you will tell when you drive it. All Karmann panels BTW, horrendously expensive...
Get the brochure for a 172, and it will tell you in the the tech data at the end what the gear ratios are, and it will give a calculated final drive ratio. Divide the power output by this ratio and that will give a rough idea of the output at the wheels.

it would be a bit hot, down side of summink this big made of metal is you have to keep it warm all the time it is in service, its standstill temp is about 85 degrees.
half of clio sport would fit in the crankcase, the other half in the exhaust. they dont do them in fast fit centres...
960mm bore, 2800mm stroke. Three injectors per cylinder, inlet ports at the bottom, air operated exhaust valve at the top, and four superchargers. Started using 30 bar compressed air, blown directly into the cylinder
There are only 3 companys left now, Mitsubishi make them, MAN make them, and I work for Wartsila NSD corp, our brand name is Sulzer for slow speed engines, And Wartsila for all other engine types. We fund our own research and charge a fortune for the end product, spare parts keeps us in money...
I am a marine engineer by trade, worked on big ships for 8 years, have degrees in thermodynamics and material technology, now design diesel engines for ships and do all the quality control stuff, got a mate in the motor trade and i love cars, but hate working on them. Nuts and bolts are too...
20 to 25 BHP lost in transmission is more than reasonable. ISO have a standard for what can be determined as an acceptable percentage power loss, and this would appear to be within that criteria.
The Clio sport and the cup have a rated output of 128 kilowatts (KW) In EU speak. This is around 172.5 bhp and is known as Rated output of the engine, not counting the gearbox and its frictional losses.
I have an M3 and its Specific Output is 343 BHP at the output shaft, so on a good day and...
I would lower it first and enjoy its tighter handling, you will be able to drive it quicker point to point, and you can get kits from Renault sport to do that with out losing the warranty. But its your motor, and nitrous sounds good
Dont change anything while under warranty, you will void it because non factory mods are NOT EC type approved. If you cant produce a certificate of conformity you wont get insured, and if you dont tell them you wont be insured.
An employee of mine did this on his MK1 172, and the gearbox...
Malice, wouldnt mormally condone this, but take the motor along to one of your local repairers, got a churchill or ADR? Or any major busy repairers?
These guys will usually take on your case and sort you out with a loan car, you dont have to fill any forms out, they just sue the other driver...

Yokos are really soft, grip is good but wear is horrendous.
Toyo Proxes are without a doubt the best for all grip/value/wear. We need to get together and do a group purchase for stuff like tyres, if you buy 50 sets you can get as much as 40% off!!!!!!
Purchaser Power!
Sorry but slarty is a t**ser.
Malice, You were hit by a car joining from a minor road (from what you say). The Driver failed to giveway/stop and secure thier vehicle. It is that simple. Dont fret about it. Hope the other driver is well insured.

Yes, quite alot of people seem to have had baffles fail in the centre section. Supposedly a revised design has stopped this.
Also I know a mates 172 had cam belt tensioners replaced as this was thought to be the cause of the resonance. Dont know if it fixed it cause right after the cat...

V6 is rude BTW.
Tried to get near it and cop a feel at Paris motor show, Some moustachioed frenchmen herded us away though. its not better than the first, its just evolved:D
Sparcos. race ones. Do you want your interior to sound like a skeleton w**king in a tin can though?
Bye bye back seat access too
Dont do short journeys either, have you had cat trouble yet? are your baffles rattling? thats the sulphur rotting the arse out of your system
Also get them to look at the condenser drain pipe, this should allow the moisture to run away so you dont get car sick or legionaires.
I remember someone telling me this wasnt connected right and didnt drain away on their Mk 2 172
Keep the winows up, set the blower on a reasonble heat, not right up. Make sure recirc isnt on.
The recirc flap is motorised, and this is Valeo part same as Pugs and it gets stuck...........trip to the dealers if it is, dash out job.
