Interesting commentary Lee. Have you tried an RS225? Mine laps quicker than my V6 or 172, and I think I passed all the 197s yesterday (I can see why they're called 197 - there seemed to be about 197 of them to overtake every lap!!).
Still got blitzed by the Willys though. But I guess that's...
Depends on which track. The light, nimble Cup would beat the V6 around Brands Indy for instance (it would probably beat a Porsche 911 turbo too!), but at somewhere like Spa the Cup just wouldn't have the grunt for all those long high speed sections and would be left for dead. I've owned a 172...
Not found any of these things to be any good. Tried a Kiss-technology wireless-ethernet player a while back - was ok as a bit of technology but too unreliable for everyday use.
The cables will make all the difference in the world mate. At the moment all your video is going down the one yellow cable. With component you get 3 cables for the video and everything will be a lot better.
I had HD installed in May. To make the most of it you really need to subscribe to Sky World, which adds up to a whopping £53.50 a month.
There's plenty of good stuff on, and there'll be more every month. The BBC HD channel is just a trial at the moment - they won't start large-scale HD...
If you are a normal punter who wants a telly for home, get an LCD. Theduck (^^) is right - there are better options for the serious AV fan, but not too many people want a projector and screen in their living room.
Plasmas are great if you get free electricity. Avoid them if you don't.
Costs for Sky HD are £299 for the box and £52.50 a month if you have all the channels (Sky World). You can spend as much as you want on a telly (or projector) - £1,000 to £10,000! And yes Mitchy is right, once you've got this you'll want a HD-DVD or BluRay player which will be at least another £500.
At the moment yes. The World Cup is the showcase for the start of the service. It'll become mainstream after that.
No kidding, if you have an HD Ready TV, 32" screen or bigger, it's simply amazing.
I've had my V6 255 from new. Done 12,000 miles in 14 months, and 8 trackdays.
Zero, and I mean zero, faults.
It's in for its first service today, for which I've been quoted £170. I expect it'll need brake pads so I bought some for the dealer to fit (£145 for a set of front & rear).
I...
Jeez, cars have only had traction control for a couple of years - it's just a safety thing. Doesn't really affect the way the car drives at all unless you rag it from a standstill.
ESP is different though. It WILL save you in 70% of those nasty moments - so leave it switched on.
*faints dead away @ £170 for pads*
Even for the Vee I can get them for £145 for a whole set!
Learn to do them yourself, or get a local garage to do it.
