I've given up on MacMail, I couldn't get the notifications to work whatever I did.
I'm using Thunderbird now, and it works. The notification is quick as fook and pings every time. Hopefully the next version of Mail in Lion or whatever will be better.
Your call mate. I love mine, but it is a lotta wonga. Do you know a student? The wife's doing a masters, so I took her with me. Her student ID got 15% off. Something to consider.
I've just replaced my 15" Dell with a 13" MBP, and yeah the screen could do with being a higher res, but it's good enough, easily for me. Maybe a 15" MBP would have been that little bit better, but hey.

Before I bought the Mac I manually backed up (no probs there) and used Windows backup on my old Win 7 laptop.

Not meaning to hijack, but, I've got gmail push workin perfectly on my iPhone, but on Mac Mail on my new MBP (I'm a Mac noob) it's awful. Sometimes gets new mail, sometimes not and rarely alerts me.
How do I fix that? I've googled it to death before anyone starts. I've tried a few things too.
