The 182 was with cup pack (as you say), white stripes and all and bone dry track, on 3 wheels at times :) awesome stuff :)
The V6 255 was totally flooded track :( and there was one "out take" it showed the stig spinning once on to the grass, damn I wish it had been dry...
..... but I was with a 182, with cup pack and V6 255, 182 was bone dry, V6 255 was flooded track.
If they just listed WET or DRY then we would know better?
Simon
Yeah it really confusing because they don't list whether they are WET or DRY times?
Just goes to show its all just a bit of Top Gear fun and not very serious imho?
Simon
Yeah we need an uprated clutch, dumping the clutch at 4k plus gets you off the line fast but good chance of clutch damage too :(
Still nobody has beat me at the "Traffic light GP" yet...lol
Simon
Slugger did 14.3 in a std V6 I heard?
I want 300bhp..... :) or more ;)
I would be to scared to drop my clutch having already had one replaced from "dumping the clutch" at 4k rpm..... :(
Simon
agree on the mileage thing, my V6 feels a lot quicker now it has 12k than it did when I first got it :)
Most cars take a lot of Miles to really open up, more than people think...
Simon
just done a few checks on net sites and most seem to give it 0-60 in 9.6, one saying it did it in 9.3?
however at 310nm of torque and 1320kgs should give it a bit of a boast once moving?, but let down by its low 98bhp per tonne power to weight...
but they are easy to chip for more...
well that was fast, but I don't call 0-60 in 9.7 and 127mph max speed a fast hatch, that only very slightly quicker than my slow Fiesta 1.6 Zetec???
Simon
Yeah well one was quick lol :)
One thing (well there are more) about the V6 is the clutch is crap, I tried holding the rpm at 4k and dumping the clutch once and BANG, new clutch needed...lol maybe he was scared to do that? if he was he should not have been at the pod though me reckons? lol...
difficult to say without seein from inside of car but max power on a v6 is not reached untill 7150rpm, so it pays to take to the max.... :)
still I reckon 15.8 is good for a diesel car that only gets to 60 in 9.7 (4 sec slower than the V6).....do you reckon it was std??
Simon
Is that last car an old corevette Stingray??? not up on US cars much
That R5 GT with huge outside intercooler...wooooo, lol, what times was he getting??
They have 18bhp per tonne more than a std cup and 100nm more torque (21nm per tonne more) and of course the better traction for being RWD, so of course they are the fastest standard Clio... :)
Not a superfast car as TVR's are but same power to weight as a scoobie sti....so NOT slow....but I...
good god, how many times do people have to post this damn thing? must have seen it over 10 times by now.....
So its a car on fire...so what??? seen plenty of cars on fire in my time, nothing new pal....
Simon
ALSO......"riding the clutch" is when you rest your foot on the pedal while driving. This will partially depress the clutch and wear it out prematurely.
Simon.
