take dash off, its only about 7 screws and bit of hassle
or if u want a proper job mount them as low as possible in the kickwell near your midbass but not infront of the midbass,
better soundstage

the boot kit covers 20sq feet if i remember correctly comes with 3 sheets of orignal and 2 of extreme?
anyway it will do a boot hence its name "trunk kit"
and me and russ get on well, were competition lol, anyway if u look at our posts the onlything wich contradict each other is our views...
you wouild not belive the chemaical properties that are different in dyanmat than other "asphalt" soundeadening,
buy a door kit or a trunk liner kit best value for money

did u know that the maclaren used DYNAMAT in all their roadgoing F1s?
also if u dynamat your car it has been tested to give a gain of up to 3-4 DB thats twice as loud as before, just for adding sound deadening,
i alttle patch behind the speaker will stop vibration but not as much as doing...
im not gonna say much on this one cos u seem pretty set in your mind any ways,
as russ said the midrange would be better if u could get them into the kick wells as low as possible to make your soundstage as wide as possible, especially if u are thinking of entering into comps u need a wide...
Russ and every one,
my company i work for are looking into running a league once a month at our shop, kind of sound off every month,
we have spoken to isacuk about it,
to include SPL and SQ contest using a RTA,
its kind of in motion we are just looking for a RTA that can handle 170 DB...
well a battery is only good when your running your stereo when you have the igntion turned off,
its a well know fact a battery is used for starting a car and as soon as your car has started then the alternator supplies the power to the car not the battery, the battery then is used for "power...
we all like to chat about stereo and advise each other and even boast about our systems, so hows about a soundoff?
nothing flashy but a good get together and a bit of fun, no limits basic to mental installs,
only looking for interest at the moment but a show of hands would be helpful,
Tom...
evil ice,
i like the sound of your plan, and i would be happy to challenge you to a SQ sound off,
on the smae note i think it would only be fair to open up the event to anyone else who would like to have a go, the competitions are not just for people likle us but everyone can have a go...
alpine have one of the best lasers on the market, they will virtually play any disc, (obviously not mp3 if its not mp3 compatible) i have even seen them play cd-rw, but they are picky on the discs lol,
the thing with alpines is they are reliable i have had four so far and not one has broken...
the best thing for your box is very much like u have done rick, personally i fibre glass the inside of the box completely making sure all the edges are well sealed, the best way to test it is to fill the damn thing with water, ( hint if u ever want to measure the size of a box u have made u can...
well presonally im not a fan of audio bahn at all, but i wont put it down properly until i have heard it,
but the phoenix gold crossovers are nice bits off kit, however if u want more nass from your W3 add a bass cube, you would not belive the difference in sound and bass it allows u to tune...
main differences are the CD compatibility,
the 7860 is the base model , the 7871 is the next one up has changer control and option of remote,
if u could stretch to the 7874 you get lots more features and benefits, things klike the bass engine upgrade and sound quality features, pre outs etc...
leigh,
i like your origianl plan better, i have a 12 w7 and 1000/1 amp and it will rock,
what else are u running speakers wise, and what cross over is colin sending ya.
