it will all depend on what equipment u are using and what u do to your car,
if u stick two 15s in the boot and leave it at that then u set it up to your frequecy, but if u add things like dynamat then your resonate frequency will be different, also applicable for box sizes air space...

as a rule of thumb if u have one twelve then one ten is not enough it would have to be a pair to gain a nice sound, but your running a w3 already so the only equivalent in a ten would be the 10" version,
but personally i would go for another 12W3 or a bass cube, or a crossover to set...

how much money do u want to spend teh alpine stuff is good but it has to be amped or it will sound pants,
personally if u want sq im partial to the JL range, but it all depends on your budget, if u can afford it go for the W7 even the ten inch will beat any sub on the market hands down even...
yea but for 12.80 u get high quality "chip board" sh*te carpet, gaps u could fit a screw driver through, and no sealer,
either buy a decent one or make your own, damn fibre glass will cost u about a fiver anyway and wood is atleast a tenner and carpet aint cheap so,
Tom
the 7874 is a direct feed loom it has a seperate feed for battery and ground they either need to be wired into the battery or into the fuse box,
you cant really put them on to switch on with the ignition becuase it will always need a permanent feed,
your problem could be caused by a few...
try amping a set of 6x9s with an enclosure i think u will be amazed at the difference and the bass response,
evil ice god knows where u got that info from, if its true i think u should approach kicker and question their subs? they seem to be square and do the job, (and no im not a kicker fan...
make a speaker tester up using a battery and speaker wire, put two wires in terminals and u will get scratchy sound ( wont damage speakers) watch the way the cones move in or out for polarity and hey presto

the denon is being used alot in the states at the moment, it seems to be the in things although adam rainer thinks the F1 status and the NAK are better,
Tom
steve,
there is no reason why a car setup cannot sound as good as a home environment if anything the characteristics off a car allow more to be done with the sound and the soundstage,
but just for a comparison on what u spent, here is what i have spent so far,
Headunit (cd player) £800...
matt PG always over rate the amps,
i have in stock a tantrum 1200.1 amp for £799 which has a certificate to proove it is pushing a genuine 1438W RMS go figure its supposed to be 1200w? its a fact,
you have to remember its not all about figures i would rather have a piece of craftsmanship...
bet those subs aint that loud.......
danny on eof my customers is hitting 150dbs with two JL subs and he onely spent 2.5k so far so 7k is alot for 151?
Tom
think i will stick with my W7
only problem is he needs 16 amps on those babys one per voice coil,
kicker are releasing a new square sub which is 18" 5000W RMS costs around a grand and you need 4 amps of at least 1200w to run it properly, it comes with spare cone and voice coil which can be changed in 5 mins and yes they...
PG would piss all over the directed power, quality, reputation, style everything, even the tantrum range are better
depends how much u want to spend, if money is a issue then buy the best u can afford not the most for your money,
or wait untill u can afford what u want
