I got the Ecotek a month ago and the daft bird on the phone knew nothing of a discount. I ended up paying the full whack (plus shipping to spain).
That said, it has sorted out the power band on my 1.6 nicely (much smoother and progressive) and I save roughly 10-15% on fuel. It was dead easy to...
Try Steve Miles at Clio Couture, I got this in a reply to an email a while back:
"Thanks for the enqiury Re: Trophy Kit
The Kit Currently costs Approx £ 3500 which covers kit, Fitment and
paint.
I will work out a price for just the Kit and email it to you.
The kit can be molded at...
My gasket went before I had the induction kit fitted... lumpy idle and a loud knocking noise coming from the front left of the car. Renault sorted it after having it in for A WHOLE WEEK, removing injectors etc. until they found the problem.
Ill have to agree that the gaskets are pretty crap...
Ive heard a bit about this subject and seen some kits for japanese cars on a couple of websites (cant recall them at the mo) but it hasnt seem to have caught on in Europe.
Anyone else looked into this? BenR maybe?
[bluerxe] Fitting the ecotec was dead easy... as Ive got an induction kit so the process was easier as the engine cover has been removed. The breather pipe from the brake servo to the inlet manifold is very accesible. Its a 10mm shiny plastic pipe that enters the third cylinder (from right) -...
I fitted one yesterday to my 1.6 and it does everything it says on the box. The throttle feels perkier, the power is now smoothed out all the way up the rev range and the car is altogether more enjoyable to drive, especially as I do a lot of town driving. Ive still to see if it will save me any...
Ive removed the Prowler back box Ive had on the car for nearly a year now as I cant stand the noise anymore, even after fitting an extra mid-silencer.
I was just wondering if the box would fit a 172?
The pipe diameter is 40mm.
cheers
Ned.
A solenoid is a sort of tube with an electrically activated magnet on the inside (if Im not mistaken). It will have a long cable protruding from one end which is tugged when the solenoid is activated, thus opening the lock which you connect to the end of the cable.
I fitted one myself when I...
Short_1uk as selling some practically brand new super-ts, although they might be gone by now.
E-mail her at short_1uk@yahoo.co.uk and find out. Shes looking at £550 for the set.
Theyre not bulbs, theyre SMD (surface mounted diode) LEDs. You need a soldering iron to replace them. The problem with fitting them is the current needed to light them properly. If you use red or green they would probably be a straight swap but blue LEDs need more current so you probably have...
Theres a description of the process at www.cliowelt.de in the tips/tricks section - in German tho.
Heres Altavistas translation:

It was a nightmare to get on mate. They cut, shut and fitted it with the bumper off the car so when the bumper was in place it pulled it enough to crack it right along the back. I had it fixed but since then its cracked again and a few lazy pratts have scuffed it too. It still looks the pooches...
Ive got one and theyre bloody loud! Im looking to change it for something else in the near future as when driving on the motorway the drone is getting unbearable.
Anyone in Spain want a s/s silencer, Boxter type exit?
Yeah, Julienne has been off the scene for ages now... still hasnt replied to an e-mail I sent before xmas.
I got the rev limit of Juliennes site... Im sure mine cuts out just over 6000 tho. My dials are the half circle ones (dunno reference) - Juliennes look like the ones from the 1.6 16v...
whoops, pressed wrong button!

Not bad considering the mods Ive done up to date although Ive been comparing to another 1.6 Si and in 2nd gear I...
Right, been doing some calculations:
Ive worked ot that Im averaging some 23 miles to the gallon (!!) at the moment which means I do to much blasting around town IMO, not good!
Ive been keeping an eye on the speedo too and worked out the following speed to gear ratios:

Try looking for TJ PANELS or CLIOCOUTURE... they both produce V6 style kits.
I havent got an e-mail for them but I think CLIOCOUTURE is in the links section of this page.
Ned.
Aaarg, blinded!!
Why arent any of your articles in the tuning guide section of the page mate?
Im sure that all will agree that they should be, although wed have nothing to argue over if they were, except colour of course. *LOL*
Good job, BenR!!!
Ill have to do some maths Im afraid.
ptas-€-£ (still confusing!) litres-gallons, etc.
