Ive had (in this order)...
1973 12TS, 1981 Fuego GTS, 1984 Fuego GTS, 1978 12TL estate(!), 1991 Clio 1.4RT, 1995 Clio RSI, 1998 Megane coupe 16v, 2002 Clio 172.
Ive had other cars inbetween but thats all the renaults. All were great in some way and a pain in others (rattles!) but all in...
Its called bumperblack I think. Will have to check at home. If any of you have a bike the autoglym motorcycle cleaner is top stuff. Pricey I agree, but worth it IMO
Ah. Im on the south coast. Yeah it was for one side. When it first started happening I did the same as you, checked all the fuses, swapped out the switches with a mates, etc. which made sure it was the motor. Then I asked the renault dealer how much and ran away. Then I scoured the yellow...
Mine was intermittent, so I guess thats the same with yours. Whereabouts are you in the country? I could tell you where I got mine done if youre close.
Same thing happened on my 95 RSI. Didnt want to pay the full price but found a 2nd hand motor at a breakers (off the shelf). Then got a small renault specialist (non franchise) local dealer to fit it as I couldnt be asked to do it myself as it looked like a bit of a work up. In all it cost me...
Yep you do Im afraid. Take everything you can as they can be fussy. I think you need 3 forms of id to prove who you are & you live at where the car is registered. I took a gas bill, the car reg document and my passport.
Go round all your local bike shops & try some on. Make sure the thing fits properly by doing up the strap and getting a mate to try & push the chin bar up, and left to right. It shouldnt move very much at all. Basically a cheap helmet that fits correctly will be much better for you than an...
If its the usual clio prob then itll be the connector under 1 (or both) seats. Pushing them together will probably sort it temporarily, for a perm fix best to get it hard wired by soldering the things up. I hope the minor bump was just a coincedence (cant help with the sensor thing)
Sold mine last year after having it 4 years. Problems I had were... Sunroof leaks & fills up c/l sensor (so c/l wont work until it dries out), electric window motor died (got a replacement from the scrappy). Lots of rattles as with all clios but all were fixed by various means. Great car though
Ive got an S6R which is brilliant. Thoose without the GPS detectors are a waste of time these days cos of the forward facing truvelo cameras which work off sensors in the road.
Ask someone nicely for one for christmas;)
I used to have a 95 RSI with an Alpine head unit & multi changer. I had an interface between the stalk & the apline which worked fine. I took all the kit out when I sold the RSI earlier this year & sold it to a mate of mine. He has since put the gear in his honda so doesnt use the interface...
The S6-R looks like the business! Bit pricey though (mind you if it saves you twice youre quids in!)

I wonder how big the unit actually is & where you could put it. What I could do with is going & having a look at one. Anyone know...
As theres a 200bhp 2 litre megane coming out later this year, do you reckon theyll plonk the engine in a clio?
Sounds like the answer to the 172/cup debate, you could have cup performance and the 172 goodies!;)
I love it! Cant beat it for value for money. Mines loosened up nicely now (7k) & I would change it - not even for a cup! Trouble is I like my creature comforts. ;)
Towser - Werent you gonna get a GPS one to replace the 815? If you have, what did you get? My mate just got 4pts & £340 for 91 in a 70 limit, so I reckon on shelling out to save myself cash & points in the long run.
Anyone else got GPS type detector experience in a 172?
Well it went in, had the bolts checked AND the centre zorst section replaced, and its cured! Yeeeeeeesssssssss! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
The car sounds quieter everywhere, not just at 4k.
Cheers to all for the advice:D

Mine goes well below that if I try hard enough.:devilish: You should be able to check it by resetting all the trips then put it on the mpg display (should show ---- to start with) then take it out & give it some. Mines been down to 14 when I do this (I know - must try harder!)
Im assuming...
Anyone got a MK1 & managed to clean the black bits? The bits I mean are the tailgate spoiler & the bit at the bottom of the windscreen. Mines gone grey with age & Id like to smarten it up a bit. Come to think of it, was it originally black? as I havent had it from new. Ive tried that back to...
