You have to get take off the wipers first then iirc there are two push in screw yolks at either side of the car.
To take the whole wiper arm off u have to get some tool thing and put it on the wiper squeeze it then the wiper comes off
I gave him the engine with nothing what-so-ever on it bar the Inlet, Thermostat housing, Injectors&fuel rail, sensors & oil filter so The new belt definately was fitted(He even gave me the old one back) along with the new tensioners - well the top two atleast. Iv no idea as to what he was...
Sorry my bad, it was the complete engine I sent off not the bare block, I sent it off soley for a timing belt&tensioner change before it goes back in just to be on the safe side
The Aux belt is my own fault; I knew there was something missing as it couldn't be running that close to the block so I said ill ask ye guy's, but as for the Timing belt tensioner......... What the flaming Nora?! Fail Fail Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaail:mad:

I sent the block off to the mechanic last week for a timing belt&tensioners change so Its back and ready to be put in.
First off; Is this Aux belt on in the right order?
The reason I ask is because with the belt on...
nearly have the 172 ready after bout 7 months for the road so i would like a new radio :approve:
really liked the Alpine ida x305
but it came out over 1 year ago so

i have a 2000 1.2 8v ahhhhhhhhhh got it was a b**ch to get the gear box out kept hitting off everything.i remember bringing the gearbox up towards the bonnet to take it out.

well i know its not very legal but i bought a new engine off here for my 172 and i wanted to set the clock to the new millage.i have the software to change it but i need the cable.

in my ph1 172 there was no cd changer so i bought one wit the cable.
in the ph1 anyway they go under the driver seat because there is a plastic thingy under the passenger.
also no need to take the dash off just the plastic thing right inside the door run the cable up there over the steering...
is that the end of the cable that goes on the speedo sensor???
if so it looks fine

Hey guy's, Iv a 2001 Phase I 172; My speedo is acting up a bit; It sometimes doesn't work whatsoever and then sometimes it might jump back into life again. I was told it was more then likely the speedo drive gear that was knackered but after removing the tripod sun wheel on the box it seems fine...
i changed my speedo sensor still didnt work so then i ordered a part off renault that goes in the gearbox under the speedo sensor.
question is do is it hard to open gearboxs???
