What about your astra? Eddd took us around in the Hired Astra 1.7 TD - and believe me that was fast enough (just a little slow on the long hill) - but he was awesome and knew the track!!
Friend has just started working for a company called http://www.betfair.comwww.betfair.com and it has an interesting twist. Instead of betting against bookies, you can bet against other people - they do the matching.
I took my car in for its 12month service last month and they replaced the center section of my exhaust because it rattled (id never heard it but I did complain about rattles (dash)) and all that was done on warranty.
Roamer also has one in his 172. Ive sat in the car and changed gear but not driven it, it certainly is very presise and id image takes some getting used to. He said that my gearstick felt dreadful after using his, he said it was really loose
I love my silver one and when I bought it I only just chose it over the red. I do like the red but happy with my choice, however, if I was to get another maybe ill pick the red, so it feels like a new car and is different.

Gaz, I know what you mean, the "easy/cheap" mods are the side repeaters and silvervision bulbs - they went on after about a week (been over a year now) Was thinking of changing the alloys to Speedline Turinis - that was until the cup came out !!!
Teady, thanks, I dont think you can see the...
Mike - cheek! :)
No, its just had the new windscreen in it so was suggested I wait before cleaning it. Polished it today too. Might clean it on Thursday if weather is ok.
Took me ages to find somewhere to park the car to take pictures (felt a right wally too) as there is nowhere around here...
Not being pedantic but have you opened your bonnet before - only saying this as you might need to pull a bit harder ? But please dont break it. (reason i say this is I had my windscreen replaced last week and the guy couldnt open the bonnet - he just didnt pull hard enough)
I used to have a 306 DTurbo (1.9 TD) and I loved it, completely in a different league to my 172 but still a great car - and as said - engine was purrfect!
As much as I want the Cup/172 to be quicker, Id love it if the Cooper S was the fastest car at the RR, that would soon silence CUPSIZE :o
Please post the results of the RR
I think my problem is that I tried some of the touch-up stuff from halfords - looks pretty sh*t so wonder if they could sort that out. Ah well, its not a new car anymore :(
Jeremy,do you know which adapter they use? If so can you post the make and model? Thanks
Also, what happens to the existing cd-changer under the passenger seat?
