Andy IMHO, it is not worth paying more for a 172 over a Cup. The handling and straight line speed make up for everything else.....well apart from the xenons, they are the dogs...

Ben you managed to get a testdrive of a Cup yet in this country. You should try it some weekend, that increase in track and increased castor angle have transformed the handling, and the pick up from 2krpm is a completely different world to my 172!

Cupsize, I am with you, the Cup is considerably faster than the 172. But 6.2/6 to 60 it cannot achieve IMHO! Also the only mag to test the RS to 5.9 was EVO. Everyone else wasat least .5s off, and 2 seconds off to 100! It is the general consensus that the EVO RS was overboosting!

Cupsize, I never said that the Cup/172 wont do 138MPH, all im saying is that at that speed the speedo is at least 10% out! The reason ppl say that the car has a little bit more is beacause you are creaping along at 131/132/133 up to 138, probably about 150 on the clock!

BTW, if you look and listen to that vid, you can hear the scoob backing off well well before it did when it raced he Cup!
