Picked this up fairly cheap, and local. Not my ideal spec (prefer auto, and touring.) but it'll do to make sure we like it before putting down more money on one.
Spec:
2002 SE model
184bhp manual
Grey heated leather
Climate
BMW business with 6cd
Multifunction steering wheel.
Cruise/auto...
You'd be correct in the guess :)
He was doing 1.20's with traffic and a knackered engine at fcs!
He's in the tricolour trophy as a one off this season then enters in fully next year I believe!
I know what sort of times it's doing around there, and it'll be very competitive. Won't disclose what it's doing until it's in a race on saturday 5/9. b
Little update..
Loom is all back together, @Stopherson has popped up a few times and we've had the seat rails welded in, sadly no pics of that.

Downpipe parts:

O
only issue with that place for anyone who lives anywhere other than the Midlands, for warranty, you have to return it to them. I have customers from Cornwall, how am I supposed to say to them, ah yeh that's a warranty job, but you now need to take it to The Midlands for it to be inspected!
Depends how much they pay out. If the box is £1100 (exchange from Renault) and labour is £400, but they only pay out 50% of the claim you're only £60 better off.
Not for you, engine clutch etc is interchangeable, you just need your upper inlet as stated. Gearbox you can only use a ph1, or 172 cup which has slightly shorter gearing. This is because your dials require a speedo input from the gearbox.
In all honesty, I think he's doing the right thing and just keeping a stock bottom end for racing with, we can just bung a replacement in easily enough that way.
The build took a bit longer than I'd have liked but this was due to parts not arriving/needed, and also had a complete new fuel system. Start to finish was about a month, but that also included the gearbox being away for 2 weeks. And it was being done around other booked servicing etc.
