They're legally obliged to continue supplying parts for 10 years after the last of a particular car is made, after that it's down to good luck & they're basically allowed to give you the middle finger
Aaahh gotcha! Yeah number 2 is what adjusts it, as for which way? I couldn't tell you as I haven't tried it yet. I was about to have a go at it trial & error style but ran into a problem of losing compression on cylinder 3 so been concentrating on fixing that & not bothered playing with the brakes
The spring & lever is supposed to be disconnected on a Cup, the braking effort to the rear is fixed which is the reason for the MOT bulletin thingy.
You can adjust the braking effort by undoing the big lock nut on the bottom of the compensator then wind the threaded bit in or out with a 5 or...
You jammy b*****d!! 🤯🤯🤯 I desperately wanted to call bullshit on finding the compensator for £50 so went on ecp & there it is at £49.49 😲
Tried to buy 1 just because I previously paid £160 for the same one & it's out of stock 😭
I'd suggest having another go at bleeding the passenger rear...
I need a clutch for my 172 Cup and I need help deciding which to buy
Is there any reason not to buy an LUK over a Valeo item? Only asking as through a combination of discount codes, Nectar points and special offers with Paypal credit etc, I can get an LUK kit for £82 compared to £122 for a...
It's either leaking or burning it or a combination of the 2.
F7's do tend to use a bit of oil anyway but that sort of consumption is a bit excessive, valve stem seals or valve guides being worn is a common cause of burning the oil excessively, there's also the possibility of worn piston rings...
Probably the previous owners personal preference or likely to be price variation between the sizes.
Last time I was shopping for tyres for my 172 Cup there was quite a bit of variation in prices between the profile sizes, I vaguely remember that there was 1 size of PS3 that was cheaper than the...
Absolutely not, I've ran both tyres for a couple of years each on my 172 Cup, on road and track through all seasons & can confidently say there's sod all difference between them imo.
The only instances I'd choose the PS3's is if they're cheaper than the Avons which is certainly the case in 195...
I've just seen the date of the OP & realised I was replying to the wrong person 🫣 :ROFLMAO:
Another common cause of misfires is dodgy injectors, swapping them round to see if the misfire moves with it and measuring the resistance of them is the way to test them, should be 14 ohms iirc
That handbrake arm looks like it is exactly the same as what's on the Mk1 Clio and I've got Mk1 calipers fitted to my 172 Cup, just makes the handbrake lever feel a little bit tighter is all
I've acquired a couple of decat pipes from a job lot of bits but could do with some help to identify them.
1st off is this possible cup racer decat pipe - only say that because that's what's written on it in marker pen 😂
Then I've got this which I thought might be a 182 manifold link pipe...
The bodies & airbox are from a BMW S1000RR motorbike, the manifold is a normal Jenvey item for a Mk1 Megane & the adaptors to make the bodies fit are custom made.
The airbox is the only thing that has the mechanism for the trumpets in it & it isn't really expensive or difficult to find & you...
Got the bonnet properly fitted today and it clears everything that it needs to inside the engine bay so I'm happy with the results 😁
Can see where the subframe has been cut to accommodate the radiator so getting that welded back up is next on the list
A bit more progress with this, finally got around to sorting the subframe. Had it blasted back to bare metal & in the nearly 20 years of dicking about with Clio's this has to be the cleanest & most un-fucked subframe I've ever seen after it's been blasted
Got something that vaguely resembles something that's similar to how it's done on a standard Valver, a nice simple oil breather from the rocker cover to the airbox
Bit of bodgefuckery with rape tape to test if my existing fan will actually fit, thankfully it does and doesn't get hit by the...
Got the finished radiator back today to start fitting it properly
Minimal bodging needed for the bottom rad hose, just a joiner and a 90 degree hose
A look at how snug the fit is after getting happy with an angle grinder on the subframe. A job for later will be getting it welded up to...
Done a bit of cardboard aided design & some gentle massaging with an angle grinder to facilitate the radiator that's going in
Got my hands on the radiator today. It's not finished yet, I just needed it to test my C.A.D skills and mark it up for where the fittings will need to go.
It...
Had some stuff done to the bonnet & did a test fit today. It's almost spot on, just needs a bit more fettling as it's catching on 1 little part of the fuel rail
