Well Donington booked for Fri eve, just to get a little seat time. Need to get the feel of old burp again. Noise will be a problem, but I'll just have to take it steady I suppise.

Another day in workshop today, got the spanners out, whipped the suspension off for a check, freed up the calipers and sliders, spanner checked all underneath, sump guard back on etc etc. Another step closer. And another good thing, pads are ok.

An eventful long Thursday. Mr Dinger Dave and Adam Gittings came over to "The Barn" yesterday, and very kindly did/helped wrap Mr Big Burp. The object was to get him looking something like a race car again, and not a beat up old Phs1. Mr Bell is my hero atm, he plodded on with no regard to time...

Ha ha, no still ph1, but I must admit, it does look like a ph2 shape.

A few steps closer today, the Clio is all cleaned inside and out, tidied some of the wiring in the engine bay, new fire ex pull switch. Dinger Dave and Adam are coming over on Thursday, to help me get it wrapped, so maybe Thruxton, maybe not. :wink: Under wraps for now.

James, I think it was a fairly old engine, so ran it low anyway, but it didn't last long.

I know of one that was much less bar than that, and it imploded itself after 10 mins at Bedford!! Fun whilst it was going though.

I was a tad busy, makes a change for me, it's usually, tyre pressures, oil, done and drink tea.

I'm with Dinger on this. Like everybody, I hate to see an engine blow. But you won't be able to use it next year anyway. Didn't get chance to speak to you over the weekend.

You said they were tapered ones, gitty. Anyway, they would have been £300 each :wink:
