Nothing, the new bush should just push in. I did mine with my hands and its been fine. Like has been said above, remove that metal collar and the new bush should fit in no problem.
Might see how you get on with that as I dont want to spray them to find that the paint on the grills starts chipping off after a few motorway runs as that would look more sh*t than grey plastics!
Cheers lads. Pretty happy with how it looks. Cant wait to get it back on the road and see how it drives.
James, spacers are on the list but wanting Whiteline ARB and solid top mounts first ;) Also wanting to spray the plastics as they are all looking a bit grey and sh*t!
Aye, could really do with some spacers, especially at the front. Wanting to get solid top mounts and Whiteline ARB first though. Ive got powerflex wishbone bushes, just waiting on powerflex ARB bushes to come, then going to get some new ball joints at the same time and then all the...
They are 16" OZ superturismos. Its amazing how just lowering the car a bit can make it look so much better!
That picture is a bit out of focus and dark here is a slightly better one!
*Edit* Needs tyre shine ;)
Cars actually off the road just now hence the Vitara in the background!
Well... finally got some news! Bought myself some brand new Spax RSX's which got delivered today. Wasted no time and got them on.
Currently lowest at the front and rear, but needs raised slightly at the front as its rubbing on the arch liner. It looks far better on these wheels than it did...
Well ive just ordered some Spax RSX's Trackday kit, and lots of powerflexy goodness! Its going to be a busy start to 2013 but il get pics up asap once i get it all fitted to the Bean!
I use Rentec autocare in Edinburgh down near Portobello. http://www.rentecautocare.co.uk/
Have used them loads over the years and they have been brilliant. They are really friendly and are always keen to have a chat when dropping off/picking up the car, and definitely seem to know what they are...
When I had my old sub and amp i just screwed the amp to the top of the sub box lol. Probs not ideal but I was young and didn't have a clue so that seemed the easiest thing to do! I then put some velcro under the sub and on the carpet and velcro'd the sub down and never had any issues with it!
Thanks for the advice. I wont be getting new front and rear shocks as I intend to get some Spax coilovers.
I also plan on getting into track days in the new year as the Clio is now a second car. Thanks for giving me the dimensions of the bushes though. Much appreciated!
Looks like a big ol' shunt!
At least you have got your insurance money and your passenger will be getting a pretty tidy sum too. Shame they had to loose some teeth to get it though :(
Front end steering/suspension refresh.
Hi everyone,
Over the winter months im looking to spruce up the bean a little bit. What I would like to do is a bit of a suspension and steering refresh but im not quite sure whats worth doing.
I was thinking about the following:
Powerflex wishbone...
You boys are hardcore ;) hehe It did sound awesome when the taps were opened!
I should of done what Stu suggested and just got some ear plugs for driving to work and back lol
lol! I had mine decatted for a bout a week as it came with the exhaust (second hand) but it became unbearable and stupidly loud for a daily driver so I sold it.
