I have been doing a few lists of what I need to buy, what I need to do and what tools I will need.
Firstly I would like to discuss what I NEED to be able to pass MSA checks for circuit racing
At the moment that list is as follows:
Fire Extinguisher Kit
Electrical Cut off Kit
In Date Harnesses...
Always sad to see this happen but hopefully you will bounce back stronger and some of the parts from this car will live to race another day.
I am just building my race car so would be interested in a bundle of cheap little parts that I will need to get me started and whilst I save up for the...
Ahhh.
Well that's me just finished reading every post of the whole 66 pages!
Some story. Its like a soap opera!
Looking forward to seeing more.
Its also a very similar set up to me Pete. I too have a bit of land and horses so can see a similarity. lol.
Thanks for the information.
I am away working offshore on the 5th March or I would have been up for that. I have been speaking with Russ and my exhaust was fitted at the workshop he does his car at too so although we have never met we have a few friends in common. Early days yet as I have only...
Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was I had a Pipercross fitted on the car but changed it for the smaller Ram Air. The Pipercross was right next to the engine so wanted the bend to take the filter away from the heat. Plus it was a Christmas present I asked for before getting the car and...
I would doubt it. I changed mine for a Pipercross which was substantially bigger than the Ram Air filter and didn't notice a decrease in power that's for sure. I would think once you get above a certain size and there is very little restriction, increasing the surface area of the filter will...
My issues was the passenger side loom splits into 3 so I would need to unplug the loom in the boot lid, bumper light and light cluster. The only issue I have with that is feeding it back round the boot after re-routing but hopefully will manage this if I pull a cable through when pulling it...
Mine doesn't even have the original undertray! Even that's risking it just for the road. My Scooby didn't have it fitted when I bought it and as a result the sumo had a tiny hole in it which was a pain to fix.
That shifter looks great. I hope you like it as I want to hear how great they are so...
This is my new Stereo:
It is too loud in the car for in ear headphones so I gave up and just put ear plugs in.
I measured the sound levels at cruise from inside the cabin at a steady 70mph and its averaging 98dB
On a positive note it was very good on fuel! The computer is either a big fat...
If you take it to get mapped by someone that specialises in Renaultsport they should have the software to map it so you don't need it or the dongle.
I too would love a set of cams too but as my car has just had the dephaser and cam belt done about 200 miles ago so can't justify it.
And Tracking. Which was miles out! The steering wheel was at 45 degrees when firing straight. Also the camber was miles out too.
A bit of heat to the track rod ends:
Then setting up:
Cup has offset of 38.5
I have put on 6.5" rims with offset of 35 which are pretty much the same.
I have some 7" wide wheels coming with ET35 which will stick out in the arches 3.5mm more.
Yeah that's the deal. I got some tyres on them too. Actually road tyres so it's likely they will end up being the road wheels and the Comp 2's Will be the track wheels. These Comp 2's came about out of the blue so wasn't planning on them so my plans got flipped upside down a bit.
Haha you noticed and put two and two together then? Lol
I had the thread removed as I realised it was a bad move. When I spoke to Top Gear the next morning they said they had about 12 orders that evening for the wheels. Turns out they don't set the stock and prices and it is automatic pricing...
Everything seems to be done in a rush when I have a spare hour hence why most action happens late at night. One day I would like to sit down and spend a few hours tidying it up. The calipers are silver but they could all do with a clean, repaint, braided lines, race fluid, new HC discs and some...
New exhaust arrived today.
All looks great quality and well made. The only thing not quite right was the website shows a slash cut pipe, the photos show a slash cut, the videos show a slash cut but what arrived was a straight cut pipe. Not to worry. Straight cut looks more race car!
