No work on the Clio today as I as busy with the chicken, goats and obviously taking down the Christmas tree and decorations.
I did get a few photos of the car with the new wheels in the daylight though:
Are the push button switches that control the interior light the same switches that put this light of the dash. My 172 Cup has started doing this but the door operates the interior light so if it's the same switch that rules that out and it must be the bonnet or the boot. Correct me if I am...
Another late shift. Much milder out there tonight. Got myself set up.
Two were considerably easier to get out than the others.
Then out with what I could get to.
Also some evidence it has had a new widescreen as part of what ever repairs were carried out:
Drivers seat back in for...
They are a lower offset than the Turinis but because they are 6.5" wide they sit further in by a couple of mm. Not a bad width for a 195 tyre though.
My 1.2 Pro Race are 7" and I suspect I will run 195 on these also.
I must admit I liked the Turinis and they actually look better than the Speedlines but I wanted 15" for the price of tyres and weight so not that bothered by the looks.
Don't know what to do with all this:
Lol. It seems a shame to take it all to the Tip but don't know if it's worth selling or how much for.
A few photos of the wheels:
And on the Jack:
And the reason for that is.....
15" Speedline Comp 2
I just wrote a big long post with all the calculations etc etc but lost it.
1mm cable will be fine. If you need me to prove it I will but my Pizza is going cold at the moment.
No need for a relay as you need a switching power supply to turn the relay on and off so wouldn't be permanently live unless you wanted to have it on a switch so you can turn it on and off as required.
Also most USB devices only want a maximum of 3 amp input. Most of the cable within the car is...
A few photos as it stands at the moment:
If I had the money I would do the following to the exterior:
Refurb the wheels
New bumper without the cut out
Remove fog lights and fit brake ducting
Fill Aerial hole in roof and vinyl wrap roof and spoiler black.
Interior I would...
Yeah going to wrap it Black I think. Not going to do anything about the inside as you would still see the marks but the outside would look good in a vinyl.
I have been out on the late shift again!
Spent some time tidying up the rear wiring. Did the drivers side but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of the passenger side this time of night!
I am going to drill a hole and gromet if I ever get rear cards.
Then I removed the aerial as I am...
I have been out for a good drive and used the indicators numerous times and the indicators definitely cancel themselves. I don't think it's the tabs on the boss that do it but the Mechanism behind the boss there the wires connect?
I have been reading about the carbon canister as I didn't know what it was and have since realised it is for the fuel tank vent if I have read correctly.
This got me thinking about the last time I filled up with fuel. There seemed to be a release of pressure when I opened the fuel cap. This is...
Great thread. Just read all of it and admired your progress over the last year or so. Nice to see you have stuck with it and have a great car to show for it. Shame about the windscreen and splitter.
Sounds like a plan then. My only issue would be the cold starting as I would prefer to get it done in a day whilst I was there rather than leave the car there. Early days yet but thanks for the information and I will plan to take it there when I have the ECU, ITB's and Exhaust on.
I would like to try one as I have heard great things about them once they are set up right. It's the price and awkward setup that's putting me off jumping in.
Wow that is some build! I am impressed. Pretty much what I would love to do only mine will take months and months! So many lovely shiny parts. Must feel like it is Christmas every day!
I want to do something with my rear wiring and all these build threads is giving me more and more information...
Well I don't think I will be buying any longer trumpets so will see how I get on with the 90's. What is the Optimal length as surely if you go too long it will start having an adverse effect (not taking into account space and bonnet etc)
Back from the dead....
I read the first page or so but then it started to become turbo vs ITB so I stopped reading.
Anyway I have just got hold of a Micky Mouse Ktec DTH throttle body kit. They have 60mm and 90mm trumpets with them but no filter.
What is my best option at the moment whilst...
I would have have just a black one but the fibreglass one they do requires painting so couldn't be bothered with that. With the carbon bonnet I suppose it goes ok. Still thinking of wrapping the roof and spoiler black.
PMS race exhaust on its way which should sound nice and should save plenty...
Noticed today there was still a lot of metal on the rear after cutting the wiper off! Had the IronX out again as I don't want it damaging the paintwork.
Anyway the carbon wiper cover arrived today so I have out that on for a trial fit. Needs a bit of sealant and lock tight on and to clean the...
