You have to drive them hard. Rev the s**t out of them. I did have a standard car other than a remap though and it was noticeably better. But it will never be really sharp by todays standards.

Whilst I agree sort of… I think the man’s done a great job and just needs to invest in a new hazard panel, trim it a bit more carefully (I’d use a wood planer personally, or a fixed belt sander for a perfect flat edge) then wrap the panel in some generic carbon stuff, and it will look proper.

The money you have spent so far on parts darts, you could have just chucked someone £100 and got it taken to a garage to be diagnosed properly.

Have they properly driven it? As in, tried to make the light come on? A garage I used to use would ‘road test’ cars about half a mile round the block at 20-30mph. Then I go and collect it, as soon as I hit the dual carriage way the EML pings back on… 🤦‍♂️😂

If a circuit is open, surely that just means they’ve left something unplugged or worst case they’ve damaged a plug? Either way, if that’s the only fault I think you’ll have that sorted by the weekend. 👍

Thanks to @Chuckles (again. He’s a bloody good egg that boy) I now have an iPad ready to use. But! It’s linked to my iTunes account so it can see my messages, pics etc etc. Some (most?!) of the stuff on my phone is not suitable for an 11 year old girl. Is there anyway I can stop it...

If your merc ownership has been worse than mine (let’s face it, with the bills you’ve had it clearly has been!) then I feel very sorry for you. They are phenomenal when they work but get a bad one and they will eat your soul.

I have access to a flat bed, but it has no towbar. I’m also buying an X5 and a trailer this week. But I can’t combine the two sadly.

Long overdue update… and many many people tagged… @colesy was selling a freshly rebuilt gearbox with a Gripper Diff that had been built by the man himself @NorthloopCup so I had to have it. £1500 later I have a new gearbox. Then, if it’s having a shiney new box it needs a clutch… £600 later...

Where in the country are you? I sent mine to Beaniesport. Not the cheapest and certainly not the fastest, but from essentially a barn find car with no wiring loom to what it is now, with zero mechanical or electrical failures over 10+ trackdays, his work is flawless. I’d definitely use him again.

Out of interest, how do you pronounce Thule? I’ve heard Thule, Tooley, Thooley… all sorts.
