Small pair of molegrips usually works. Yeah bolt will be fine but with a couple of washers to spread the load.

Bumper off then I'm afraid there's a small hole in the slam panel you can get a screwdriver through.

Get someone to press the bonnet while you pull the release. You can get at it with a screwdriver but you have a faff about getting the bumper off without the grill.
