I welded a 2.5inch piece onto mine which slotted into a 2.5 ktec system fine with a clamp.
I’d also consider speaking to him about the manifold-cat connection as mine was heavily corroded and needed replacing with new steel.
I doubt any rust will be that bad it's mostly a cosmetic thing, only worth fixing if you intend to keep the car a long time.
It's generally down to poor paintwork by Renault, theres a few bits where they all seem to develop some rust, brake servo seems to be another for example.
The one I got the old man for Xmas seems decent tbf, they had no issue replacing a ratchet even tho I thought there was nothing wrong with it
I wish Wera would do some bigger sets tho, I’ve got a smaller one and it’s superb.

If the starters stopping then it sounds like thats your issue, Remove the airbox and you can get at it.
If its not the starter, sounds like it could be a low pressure fueling issue.
There a nightmare to do on axle stands, in hindsight I would pay for a garage to do it next time.

Only really the Ktec for a stealth exhaust, but they are quite boomy inside which I think is due to the angle of the exit
I’m going to look at getting one made instead when it comes to replacing mine.
Mitutoyo or Starrett but going to cost ££££ But they are mega accurate and real nice quality.
Might be overkill but I doubt you would ever need to replace them.
