Just ordered a beginners kit for my brother Iron X, Tar X, BTBM, Megs lambswool mitt, Megs applicators, Sonus Drying towels, Poorboys short and long sided MF's, AF tough prep, AF tough coat. Can't believe the price of just that little lot and he will be borrowing a bunch of my stuff as well...
Thanks guys, I do have a pot of AG HD that I've never used and was going to sell but have also thought about the Zaino range. Ceramic sealants? I have a garage to work in so that is not going to limit what I use but do like the cleaning/waxing process.
For the Clio Trophy I've settled on BOS over Amigo which I found was brilliant whilst the car was not being used much but I think I will be needing something a little more long lasting for the winter. I think I would still prefer the look and action of a wax but would listen to different options...
Luke, who do use for respray? As you know the T seems to suffer quite badly and even though mine is low mileage it needs some tlc bonnet wise. A body shop that you are prepared to go back to again and again is pretty valuable and you are quite close.
Why would we be doing that? I can't see the reaction being any different than here if not more sympathetic, at least you don't get the circling vultures over there. Anyway shame.
All these reply's are on the wrong track. My main gripe's with the T are that it is a little underpowered and too heavy. Why does everyone want to add weight. Wrong wrong wrong. ;)
My brother is finally taking his interest further than halfords best for his silver VW T Kombi. So it's big and he doesn't have generally much time. Products wise I was thinking of the usual decontamination followed by maybe Prime then Amigo. I would usually then slap a wax on top but for ease...
Going to play devils advocate here, if a hard powdercoat finish cannot withstand "300'C+ of brake (dust)" how can adding a thin coat of sealant make any difference?
You could be on to something there. It's these http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=589587 or the 3m paint shop stuff.
Thanks again but if you read my post you will see I already have a very good £600 cover, I want some short term thin sheeting like those in the 2nd picture here http://www.renault.com/en/passionsport/les-vehicules-historiques/pages/renault-classic.aspx
