It's normally associated with a leak in the coolant system. Be it from a hose, the radiator, water pump or the channels in the block.

It fine. Running no filter isn't the end of the world. Obviously it's not ideal but it's not as though the thing's going to blow up instantly just because you've discovered it hasn't got an air filter. It would have gone on for years being fine if you'd never noticed.

The kit from Renault is made of slightly harder cheese. It won't rust through as quickly and has the correct size bolts. The kit from nwp has the wrong bolts and rusts through in 6 weeks. This really is a painful thread to read. edit: something that's been over looked from the start, did you...

That northwest performance manifold kit is shite. mickey mouse bolts and not the right length. Last time I had to change it, I fitted the oe kit for a 205 gti. Same fittings, but slightly less crap.
