After much stressing this week I've decided to buy a aux belt kit , the belt was replaced on the car cambelt time but the last few days I keep seeing tensioners letting go and killing engines :S they said my tensioner was fine but I'm not one to skimp when it comes to that...

Just got a quote of £60 including vat forget we get staff discount at renault :) the tensioner on its own is £140 odd :S so a kit it is ! Do I need anything other than the kit? Idlers ? Etc

Ps you can't buy uprated ones (well I can't find any) and they are easy for just 3 13mm bolts on each mount and you can get them from renault or euro car parts ! Although my euro car parts lasted exactly 1 week before breaking , and apparently Renaults aren't that much better but are a lot more...

If its anything like my k-tec the left pipe is held on with a u clamp and can be adjust in and out round etc , the right pipe is welded , if its sitting down one side more than likely the mounts ! They are pants at the best times !

Lol good idea haha!! And to answer you're question, no you wont feel a vibration from the brakes !! you may hear a slight catching from the wheel , but shouldnt create a vibration unless your brakes have big issues lol Hope this helps

think ill get some new clamps for mine then! has exhaust putty but like said it goes brittle and snaps under load !!

Renault mate they do a aux belt kit £72 with new tensioner and idler pulley , advised to replace all anyway! your luck it hasn't taken the cam belt with it apparently a common thing !!

Its always done me well, no need to run the car because 9 times out of ten you cant hear the rumbling over the engine noise !! i literally jack up a corner , spin the wheel a few times by hand get it moving and rest your hand on the spring (at the front) and same again at rear but grab the axle...

I have exactly the same problem mate, i have the k-tec janspeed system with k-tec decat (unsleaved) and supersprint centre , its always blown a little have to keep resealing and moving it getting a pain now !! Let me know if you find a fix !! Thanks Dean

Spin them up on the car and put your hand of the rear beam you can feel the roughness ! Same with front spin up by hand and grab the spring ! Works every time for me I'm a mechanic by trade !

Tool my car in today , they replaced the hinge , and got a mini valet , All for nothing ! Can't moan at that :D

Again another quick update no photos this time , took the car to renault today after booking in for the bonnet hinge recall check , dropped it off and got a phone call , it's had to have a new catch , (don't know if they all did or not ?) so happy days renault replacing stuff for free !! :)...
