If double check every time I've had one fail it brings up the ESP and ABS light , never seen one being up the MIL because that should be emissions or engine fault Mate

I believe it is mate I had a phase 2 172 on a 53 reg ! And that had cruise control fitted ! I don't know if it was retro fitted but pretty sure it was factory !

The wheel struggles spin with the washer missing ! How you would drive it without noticing is beyond me ! I had mine stick to the old disc and luckily put the disc on and span it ! Was blagged as to why it didnt spin ! Haha lucky boy !

I've ran a decat since November and not once has the MIL come on , that's with both of the sensors plugged in and fitted ! I wouldn't worry about it ! i had the MIL come on about emissions a few months before I swapped over and it didnt go into LIMP mode it just flashed irritatingly !

I reckon you'd get a 172 fairly decent condition for 2k , but buy on condition mate not on mileage ! I bought a 53 reg 172 with 44k , broke loads then engine have up in a week! I bought a 182 with 94k loads better condition ! Miles aren't everything mate !

Try cleaning the throttle body with a bit of carb cleaner ! Might be fouled up!

I had a standard step up and then swapped over to the V6 ! Prefer the v6 didn't loose anything power wise just made a bit more noise to be honest !

Rocker switch on the steering wheel contacts possibly ?
