If your serious I'd get a proper map take the car to RS tuning or something , not just a off the shelf map !

Not 100% how they are driven , if they are cable or hydraulic , but if cable a fraying cable could cause this issue , and if the release bearing is moving on the input shaft well could also cause this issue ! Hope that helps some!

Silly question have you checked the tyre pressures ? If they are to high maybe making it floaty ! Also if you've had It laser tracked it would normally show up !

There will be some movement in and out as that's how the shaft should work ! Not loads but a little ! Check for play up and Down as well !
