Thanks all for another cracking weekend. Only went to my first CSF last year and can see how they're such an event. Massive thanks to all the admin staff who put the event together. I said on the day it was proper surreal that a Clio forum could put on such a well run and large scale event...
There was a moment you walked out the garage and had clearly had enough of my s**t, I can't remember who I turned to (possibly @RustyMojo) and just said "who's going to tell Rob his cars spent longer on the ramps than the track"
I want you to know karma will bite me for this. Very hard.
I know, Kyle has also suggested I follow him down tomorrow, so I can sit looking at it for 4 hours driving the world's sweatiest mini, regretting my tardiness in preparing for the weekend.
I'm @Ray Gin
Another vote for YT Premium.
I watch a lot of the live recordings and it's great to be able to play them in the car.
I probably use YouTube more than any other streaming service now for both music and videos.
Edit,
One annoyance though is it's not integrated into other stuff as much, like...
I'm starting to think I need some tuition off track first!
Now got to find somewhere to swap the tires over Friday morning before I set off.
I'm a dick and just haven't prepared myself properly, I've ended up in a hotel 10 miles away, have no idea what I'm bringing down and driving a car on...
I've booked the CS slag mini in for a service, tried swapping pads and bolts were seized so the garage said drop them in and they'll do them.
On the way out he just looks at it and goes "you swapping the winter tires out before track?" FML I'm horrifically under prepared for this.
My brush isn't made out of steel h'actually! Everything else is, but not the brush!
Get the bulldozer broom from screwfix. Don't get something too stiff at they're just a t**t to use.
The way I look at it is there's no need to rush into increasing it.
Last year was my first CSF and I went out as passanger in a few cars and was surprised how quiet the track was, so I've bought a car and track time for this year to return and enjoy it myself.
The event was busy last year...
I have a few titan bits for where I just can't justify the Makita prices and they're all absolutely spot on.
Their SDS drills are disposable money and brilliant for chiselling out and generally s**t work that you don't want to ruin proper tools on.
I said this to Kyle yesterday, it's almost like they've discounted the price by 20% then added a further 20% in the basket too.
I bought the jack and these ratcheting axle stands which came in at £32 with trade card and the discount...
I'm with @Touring_Rob on this.
In my head I had £150 for a few passanger laps then over to a car to do some as the driver.
£20 felt like great value for money on the day, £30 would be a no brainier and £40 would be where I'd start thinking about it personally.
That said if I believed in...
My preference would be a passanger ride and option to drive a few laps myself. Would be good to see the difference between a proper driver and an amateur.
Although to be honest having not done a track day before I'd be happy to take something less track focused out if that could be a totally...
