Ended up selling my Cup suspension setup and buying a new set of Gaz Golds that @Mash supplied me. Decided to go for 650 front and 500 rear springs,
Next up some Pure Motorsport top mounts.
Changed to a stud and nut conversion with some 16mm front spacers, tidied up the calipers with some...
Missed my track day last week due to c**k up with top mounts so now I've got to wait til the 12th.
I'd imagine from how they perform on the road they would be awesome on the track, you wouldn't really want the spring set up I've got in a road car which is fine as mine is pretty much track...
I'll be able to compare them both as 2 of my mates have the BC DR's fitted
Fitting was really easy buddy, just having some grub then I'm off out to try it.
On the subject of top mounts Nick @pure-motorsport motorsport managed to get me a set of his in less then 24hrs, would recommend him aswell as @Mash for sorting the coilovers to anyone.
Rears went on straight away, fronts are going on today, got proper messed about by the company making my top mounts unfortunately so set things back a few days 😞
Thanks again buddy
I'm pretty certain I'm going for the Gaz Golds, just need to decide on spring rates? I know it's a personal thing but any advice appreciated.
Car is stripped, approx 920kg, rear anti roll bar, not running full slicks but decent track tyres. Car will mainly be used at Snetterton but might have...
I think I'm going to go with the Gaz Golds purely because there customer service is awesome, they have a full coilover on the rear and I can source a new set for sensible money. I defiantly would not be disappointed with the BC's as from what I've seen they are excellent I just feel the golds...
I'm not afraid of spending money the suspension on my other car was was nearly 4K. My Clio on the other hand is a cheap track car and my budget is is £8-900 which I'm hoping will buy me something half decent go have fun with.
Right guys basically I need to choose between 3 different coilovers fir my 172 track car. The only time it will see the road is to and from the track and I'm not to bothered about it being horrendous on the road as long as it performs on track.
First are the Gaz Golds, having done a search...
Gearbox fixed! The shim had snapped and popped the circlip out.
Fixed with a Renfort plate
Replaced my gear shifter
New helmet box, this things really handy for a track car
New dry track wheels
Picked up another cheaply set for wets, quick prep and paint, just waiting for new...
Fitted K-Tec solid top mounts and PMS strut brace tonight.
I have a Renfort plate that is hopefully going to fix my gearbox issue, hopefully get it fitted soon so I can get back out on track.
just bought a Renfort plate, does it go over the shim and circlip to hold them in or does it replace the shim and circlip? It's come with no instructions and although the French guys who sell them are helpful the French to English translation is not the best 🙈
changed the brake fluid for Motul 660. Managed to pick up a new whiteline anti roll bar Sunday afternoon, quickly fitted it Sunday night ready for my 2nd track day last night, also installed some RS Tuner software
Track day was going really well .... until I lost all drive...
