Pulled away earlier today and heard a metallic clanging sound. Thought I'd snapped a spring! Turns out the jubilee clip had popped off the air filter neck and was rattling around on the alloy bend! The twisting of the engine on its 12 year old mounts must have shaken it loose.
There's a guide on here somewhere on how to remove the steering wheel. This covers the airbag removal. Essentially it's disconnecting the battery for 10/15 mins, then using a flat blade screwdriver to pop the clips on the back of the steering wheel. There's two coloured plastic clips that you...
Just been out installing mine as the polished pipe came today:
Didn't need cable ties as it's wedged in tightly between the battery and headlight. The pipe rests against the metal where the old air feed went, which is a little annoying as it will scratch it but all in an easy setup. Been for a...
Mike and put a 172 engine in my 182 for me when I dropped a valve on a trackday. I kept the inlet and exhaust manifolds so no difference in power that I can detect. Just needed a breather blanking off as the inlets are slightly different.
Just been researching this actually then came across this thread. It would appear if you have the Update List HU then you need the APF-D102RE steering wheel adapter. Can't find one for less than €90 though.
I have an Arcan 3 tonne low entry trolley jack that I picked up in Costco a couple of years ago. It's brilliant but it is back-breakingly heavy to lift. Costco now only seem to sell the aluminium lightweight Arcan. Still lifts 2 tonnes or so. I wish I had room for two as I'd get that one as well!
Definitely worth the trip. I'm in Basingstoke and have used him for all our cars over the years. Alignment is all he does and he makes a decent coffee too.
Fitted a new battery to the Clio as the trip computer kept resetting after not being used for a few days.
Had a new windscreen fitted to the Mondeo in preparation for the MOT.
Tightened up my evol dog bone mount. I'd noticed that it wasn't as noticeable when driving, so I checked underneath and found that the rear bolt had worked itself loose. Tightened it up now and hoping it won't work loose again.
Oil change for the Clio today. Went with Shell Helix Ultra or whatever it's called. Tightened up my dog bone mount which had worked itself loose
A bit of a thread bump, but how have you found these since they've been fitted? Interested as they come in Clio-friendly sizes and mine need replacing soon, so it's these or Eagle F1s.
My wheel arrived from Snappy this morning. I have to say I'm well chuffed with the results! I didn't go for the top band as it wasn't my cup of tea:
Just need to find the time to fit it now!
Having a little issue with the Clio. If I don't use it for say, a day, when I try to start it, the engine turns over but won't fire in to life. However, it then always starts on the second attempt. This doesn't always happen, only around 60% of the time. I thought it might be the battery as I...
