The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

Pulled away earlier today and heard a metallic clanging sound. Thought I'd snapped a spring! Turns out the jubilee clip had popped off the air filter neck and was rattling around on the alloy bend! The twisting of the engine on its 12 year old mounts must have shaken it loose.

    Horn push on steering wheel

There's a guide on here somewhere on how to remove the steering wheel. This covers the airbag removal. Essentially it's disconnecting the battery for 10/15 mins, then using a flat blade screwdriver to pop the clips on the back of the steering wheel. There's two coloured plastic clips that you...

What have you done to your car today ???

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

Just been out installing mine as the polished pipe came today: Didn't need cable ties as it's wedged in tightly between the battery and headlight. The pipe rests against the metal where the old air feed went, which is a little annoying as it will scratch it but all in an easy setup. Been for a...

New Engine - Opportunity for Refresh

Mike and put a 172 engine in my 182 for me when I dropped a valve on a trackday. I kept the inlet and exhaust manifolds so no difference in power that I can detect. Just needed a breather blanking off as the inlets are slightly different.

    Stereo upgrade

Just been researching this actually then came across this thread. It would appear if you have the Update List HU then you need the APF-D102RE steering wheel adapter. Can't find one for less than €90 though.

Has anyone found a decent non-genuine exhaust replacement?

Also worth copying the part number from Euro Car Parts and pasting into Carparts4less.com (their sister site and usually quite a bit cheaper).

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

Finally got on board with this and ordered the Ramair filter and polished pipe last night. Looking forward to getting it all fitted.

What have you done to your car today ???

Changed the thermostat on the wife's mk3 Mondeo. It wa stuck open and the car wouldn't heat up. What a fiddly job that was!

What trolley jack does everyone use?

I have an Arcan 3 tonne low entry trolley jack that I picked up in Costco a couple of years ago. It's brilliant but it is back-breakingly heavy to lift. Costco now only seem to sell the aluminium lightweight Arcan. Still lifts 2 tonnes or so. I wish I had room for two as I'd get that one as well!

What have you done to your car today ???

MOT, service and two new tyres. £260 down and on checking the invoice, found out the garage had filled it with 5w30!

    Geo setup in Hampshire.

Definitely worth the trip. I'm in Basingstoke and have used him for all our cars over the years. Alignment is all he does and he makes a decent coffee too.

What have you done to your car today ???

Fitted a new battery to the Clio as the trip computer kept resetting after not being used for a few days. Had a new windscreen fitted to the Mondeo in preparation for the MOT.

What have you done to your car today ???

Lol! Mine were from 2006! No wonder they were all out of shape!

What have you done to your car today ???

Don't worry, my last two PE2s went earlier in the year. They'd gone square and were giving me terrible wheel vibration.

What have you done to your car today ???

Tightened up my evol dog bone mount. I'd noticed that it wasn't as noticeable when driving, so I checked underneath and found that the rear bolt had worked itself loose. Tightened it up now and hoping it won't work loose again.

Getting 8 miles less a bar after fitting new tyres!

Have you checked your tyre pressures are correct?

What have you done to your car today ???

    Tyre/size recommendations... mid-range

A bit of a thread bump, but how have you found these since they've been fitted? Interested as they come in Clio-friendly sizes and mine need replacing soon, so it's these or Eagle F1s.

What have you done to your car today ???

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Ordered some Iron X. Never used it before (or anything like it). I'll try it on the wife's grotty old 54 plate Mondeo wheels for maximum effect!

    182 Occasional Starting Issues

Ah. So although my battery is in theory "good", it's not man enough for the job?
  25. Karlos182

    182 Occasional Starting Issues

Yes it's 380cca. Is that too low for a 182? Some of the others I was looking at are 450cca, which would clearly be a lot more powerful at startup.

    Steering Wheels (Snappy Ones)

My wheel arrived from Snappy this morning. I have to say I'm well chuffed with the results! I didn't go for the top band as it wasn't my cup of tea: Just need to find the time to fit it now!

    182 Occasional Starting Issues

Having a little issue with the Clio. If I don't use it for say, a day, when I try to start it, the engine turns over but won't fire in to life. However, it then always starts on the second attempt. This doesn't always happen, only around 60% of the time. I thought it might be the battery as I...
