The code for the cat is probably due to the car running rich, that will flag a code because eventually it would be enough to damage the cat.
They can be a snug fit, sometimes catching a little bit on a burr on the first lip on the axle.
I usually give them a gentle rock side to side as it goes on.
When you say 'all other diagnosis has come up with nothing', have you had the physical timing checked by pinning the crank at TDC and slotting the tool in the cams?
I seem to remember your other thread where you mentioned the manifold pressure being around 400mbar on idle, rather than the usual...
