Dump the metal ECU cover and just cover the loom in electrical tape, that's what I did on my 1.2 when the casing started to eat the loom.

It's Electonic, no steering fluid required.

IIRC that light just means that it's had a poor start up, extra fuel flung down the exhaust or whatever, couple of clean start ups should see the light clear.
