I actually prefer the standard wheels! but i'm an OEM freak... love the car though. I thought about one to replace the Saab but it's just too similar to be worthwhile.
Keep us posted with updates. Always interesting.
No common issues with the 2.8 engine.. So just check things common to all 9-3's, which ammounts to broken coil springs and check all electrics.
Buy mine if you want !
The new 335i's are single turbos now-a-days!
The twin tubby version was saved for the 1M IIRC.
Lovely car, though.. certainly would look at one 5 years down the road when they've depreciated a bit.lol
I used to average 27mpg out of mine (auto), Not really long journeys but kind roads with zero traffic (start at 3ish) that was being careful...
I'd imagine if you add traffic, town work, housing estates etc you might get early 20's.
Love it.. touring is the correct choice, auto is correct choice, 3.0 is correct choice, xenons is correct choice...
Why is everyone obsessed with it's mpg! If you're worried about fuel costs then don't buy one (or anything else petrol with 6+ cylinders!) I literally put the card in the pay at...
Re: My A1 (to be) Thread
I remember from years back I was with my old man ordering or sorting paperwork for a spanking new car.. He had a choice of about 5 plates.
Insurance is £600 for me, map declared.. Not bad i think. That's with my lass on it too (25)
The best thing about it is raping 'fast' cars. It would take something pretty quick to show it a clean pair of heels in a straight line.
Re: My A1 (to be) Thread
Nice looking car. My mate brought a bright red 1.6tdi one round a week before official release. Turned lots of heads for a small car.
Infact, think it looked just like that but red.
It's the 2.8T V6... identical to the Vectra VXR right down to the engine code.
I fancied a VXR but just can't get on with the way they look! So this is perfect...
No issues with the engine taking this sort of power, they're pretty bulletproof. Next step is to add a Insignia VXR turbo as it's...
Yeah it's only a map done. Responds well, though!
Turbo X look quite smart but the Haldex slows them down a fair bit and has its issues!
I saw that one end on eBay it was fairly local to me... Not sure I'd fancy 100 odd k miles with no history! But at that money it may of been worth a punt!
Cheers for positive comments!
Yeah the wheels were spining in 2nd but not too much.. it pulls and matches the road speed at that rate though as it doesn't bog down when you put it into 3rd.
They're cheap as anything though.. Good buy.
Re build quality.. The actual quality, fit and finish of the car is very good. The interior is decent as far as seats and door cards go (better than Mondeo) but the dashboard is pretty dire for the type of car. It's just made from quite brittle plastics and as a result it's really creaky.
Its...
Thought i'd check in as i still look at here as my 'home' site.
Had it since July now. In that time i've had 2 issues, siezed pump for the headlight washers. Fitted a £18 replacement on my drive in about half hour. Second was a bit worse, a broken front coil spring. The springs going is a very...
I'm considering getting shut of my lasses 206 GTI for one of these.. Only one question, does the Cup come with full ESP? Or just the FF and R27 models? (if they do!?)
Lovely car but the wheels look crap IMO. They look too big and I've always preferred multispokes, though.
Camp picture, but these are the ones you don't pay extra for. Much better!
Agree.. Mine only revs to 6.5k but it pulls 70 in 2nd and 100 in 3rd... I've not rung 4th out!!!
Mine's still standard at 250/260 and manages more than fine with the long gearing, makes it really lazy/effortless to drive.
Soon have 400lbft ! :-D
Very impressive gearbox. Is it 7 speed? Would explain the short gears..
I'd love a dsg type gearbox in a car, would also only want it with a warranty. I can't afford new cars with warranties! :(
