    Timing Belt, oh bugger!

Unlucky dude. If the engine is knackered then I feel for you. I'm going through the (very expensive) process of getting mine replaced in my 182 :(

Getting my first Clio Sport later today!

There is a little dial on the right stalk which allows you to control the sensitivity of the auto wipers :) EDIT: beaten

    Engines get hot though.

    Front Door Speakers

I assume these will be better than standard in the 182 though? Can anyone who has upgraded comment?

    My Arctic 182 So Far.....

So those Turinis are 17" are they? They look to suit the car perfectly (before it got lowered too much).

    The New Clio S

I imagine their target audience is new/young drivers who want to look 'cool' without the high insurance premiums.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

An engine has been bought, delivered this week hopefully. JMS are picking the car up tomorrow. Things are moving :) Tom and James at JMS have been awesome so far.

well thats it i think i have to sell the clio

Blimey! I'm 24, and I got my insurance for £670 through Admiral, 2 years NCB and 3 points on my license. I live in a small village though.

Nearly. Hopefully JMS will be picking it up this week and I'll be paying for the engine today.

    Bonnet Bra's

I'd rather have stone chips than have my car wearing a 'bra'.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Haha! What "issues" are we talking of? I'll be round to hear that RS192 when it's back up and running mate, if that's ok with you? Shame I won't be able to afford one after all of this :(

    More ebay lolz

I don't understand your messages to him.

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

I've confirmed everything with JMS, so the car will hopefully be picked up this week. The engine I should have sorted this week as well, and they quoted about 2 days for delivery. So depending on when JMS can fit things in I am hoping to have it back on the road next week. It'll be like getting...

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

I would need a Ph2 172 engine though, right? I'm near to finalising a deal on a 182 engine. It's expensive, but low mileage and comes with 3 month warranty, so I'm thinking I'll take the hit on the expense for that extra peace of mind.

    Naming my Car

But what happens if she refers to his car when asking which car they will be taking? "Let's take YOUR CAR" "Ok.......errr.wait..what?"

Cheers dude. I think you meant this one didn't you? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Breaking-Renault-Sport-Clio-Phase-2-172-Black-Engine-/200471916337?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ead0eaf31#ht_972wt_1165 I'd prefer a 182 engine if possible, I'll consider 172s in a...

This one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BREAKING-RENAULT-SPORT-CLIO-182-MODEL-04-PARTS-/370383924507?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item563c9a2d1b#ht_1295wt_939 I emailed them and they said £950 + VAT! Seemed a bit excessive so I've asked for me details. I'll put an offer in...

I just got a good quote from JMS :) Now I just need an engine!
  22. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Ok thanks guys. When I get the quote from James@JMS I'll give him a call to talk through the above. If I can keep back some bits and bobs which are working to sell then that would be great.
  23. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

I don't really understand, sorry. I don't know enough to be able to sort stuff like this out, I don't want to spend £500 on something only to find I don't have a replacement part for the actual bits which are broken. If that makes sense?
  24. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

I'd prefer a 182 engine if possible, unless there is any reason why this makes no difference? I called the gumtree add earlier and it's sold already. I just called the first eBay link you mentioned, they've got a 182 engine coming in next week for £800+VAT, seems expensive.
  25. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

haha, thanks :) Less preferably ;) I just bought 5 scratch cards for £5 on the off chance that Karma does exist. I won £1. So, in my search for funds to repair my car I am currently at -£4. I suppose I've got to laugh about it really!
  26. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

Well I'm going to wait for the quote from JMS then weigh up all my options. Sorry for ranting so publicly, I feel better now though!
  27. ScarySquirrel

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

This is me we're talking about though, I am the definition of 'bad luck'. Nothing ever goes right for me, so the chance of finding a cheap engine is non existent. The chance of me going down to the garage tonight and smashing the s**t out of my 182 is very high. I am bored of this whole business...

I've just broken down and it sounded expensive

I am quickly losing hope of getting this car back on the road for under £1,500 :( The two quotes I have had so far have been around £1800 for labour and all parts (including clutch, cam, aux, etc etc.) Then it seems I am looking at £700+ for the bloody engine. I have a feeling I'll end up...
