my exhaust is standard apart from decat, its actually the centre section silencer that catches ocasionally, the back box sits quite high up as standard on the 172.
mines lowered 40mm and on 16s never catches on the arches and handles very nicely, but the exhaust does ocasionally scrap on large speed bumps but thats only seems to be when you take them dead on.
picture in link to give you an idea or the ride height...
you might wanna check you caliper!! when that happened to me its because my caliper had failed and was sticking could smell it when driving and could physically feel the heat when walking past it to close the garage on a night.
i do want a cat back but money might force me to get a back box. Think it will still pop with standard centre section and decat if i put a decent straight thru back box on?
yeah more grip, removes quite alot of front end chassis flex and roll thru corners you'll see what i mean by feels tighter if you get 1. I put a omp strut on with my 40mm apex springs and it really does handle alot better(was gonna get coilovers but dont think ill bother now) supposedly reduces...
im just after a exhaust note lol my induction kit gives a overpowering front end noise, dont get my wrong sounds gorgeous but wouldnt mind a few pops and some sound when cruising
centre section seems new to be honest must of been changed before i bought the car will easily last a few years, is there much diffrence flow wise from standard centre pipe compared to a yozza 1? cos if not im tempted to just get a backbox
ah yeah that reminds me had to replace the alloys aswell cos front one was scrwed... however i found the team dynamics 1s that i bought to actually be lighter than the turinis by 1.6kg each which is a small bonus i guess, dont look as nice tho :(
Would also reccomend a front strut brace really...
Hi i have a 172cup with a decat on the standard exhaust was just wondering if there is much point in getting a cat back or wether to just find a decent back box? is the stock centre pipe very restrictive? also can anyone reccomend a cat back or back box they have used. cheers
cup springs are better but leave the car a little to high i think, i changed mine for 40mm apex lowering springs feels better thru corners and looks ALOT nicer
hey mate i know how you feel when i bought my cup last year in november it very quickly came to my attention that something was wrong with the front left had blatently been crashed and fixed to a very poor standard just to sell, anyway cut a long story short i had to change everything, new...
alright mate, ill try that i got a decat on so i have the second lambda still sat in my cat ill try swap them over see if that works hopefully ill be able to get at it without taking decat off cause on the 172 its abit of a joke lol. cheers
my clio 172 cup is misfiring when warm will be fine until the engine reaches optimum temp but then will start to cough and splutter ocasionally. would a faulty oxygen sensor cause this? also am i right in thinking this is connected to the manifold? anyone have any ideads how to check for a...
my cup is doing something very similar excpet it does it on idle, ocasionally pops and splutters when warm and smells of fuel i do have a decat so i expect a slight smell but since its been doing that its significantly stronger. Any updates on what you have tried would be gratefully apprectaied.
