thing you have to think about....1*2's are 10 a penny...one on every street corner......not so with the williams.
if you sell the rb n get a willy, the only thing youl regret is not doing it sooner.
gains to be had from the f7r....quite a lot tbh.
very very mildly tuned, and mapped...
yay.....its passed the mot........happy motoring mate.
how longs it been??? and the remap sounds like itl save u the cost of it within a couple weeks on juice alone lol...kinda shows how really badly it was mapped in the 1st place.....il be very surprised if it hasnt suffered a bit of bore...
as above really. weight shedding is free power to a certain extent, then u get into the poly windows etc. which does cost.
personally, id say if its a toss up between getting polys or a trackday....the trackday would win evry time.
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
the engine mounts hold my engine in, not the subframe. is this a consequence of the massive shunt its had at the front??? assuming this is no.0002 were talkin about.
main thing tho is how it drives....il find out when its been mot'd lol.
i have no doubt whatsoever that it will be 100% better than it was.....or as wayne said...the diff between how it was and how it is now is like the diff between night and day.
set o plugs n itl be all done.
well..no not really....cos it isnt true is it??
the boxes go on them more than anything, other than that they are fukkin bullet proof. imho. and i drive mine hard from turn on to turn off......8 years of abuse in mine so far, and other than the cams destroying the top end i havent had 1...
i dunno....had mine apart when i rebuilt the meg btm end, new shells/mains/rings etc.
didnt have 1 spot of bother with it til the cams expoded 2 years later....thanks kent.....nice 1.
has been 4 years since that happened....still..running like a gd un.
spose it depends on whos messed...
iv looked into it for a friend, but decided against until there are some more mods done as the map alone would give minimal gains for the outlay. add a couple more goodies to it , filter, de-cat/zorst etc and itd be a worthwhile mod.
what you failed to mention mate....it was running 250 at the fly when it went in....came out with 243 @ the wheels....now thats a fair amount of diff.
waynes a top, top bloke always happy to do the work, or just sit n have a chat about anything and everything. as iv said before, hes the only...
any news yet mate??
power output etc.
i know wayne was laughing his c**k off at the map that was on there.....just wondered if youd had any news of things getting somewhere near right....as it will be before it leaves waynes workshop.
shame more 'tuning' companies arent like him...
but what you know on these engines is minimal at best.
i mean u were singing the praises of the s/c beast for a long time, as was i until i had to drive it at anything other than flat out, but after that i realised just how sh1t it was....in my opinion ur experince/knowledge counts for...
is there an f4r powered mk 1 thats running regularly and reliably??
id think not as far as the forum news goes tbh.
hybrid mk1 has goty to be a f7d valver.....simple to install, simple to get runnning, simple to get more power out of..
a 2.0 f7 can be had for minimal outlay...
think most iv seen a std 172 run is about 165.
and thats pretty much book figure.....a car running 170 with de-cat and remap is just fukkin dire if you ask me....trying to promote it as a std car is even worse in my book.
wow.............an f4 running more than book figures.....now theres a 1 in a million. 172 being the ps not bhp, which equates to around 165 bhp iirc.
keep hold of that mate its a good un......diff roller comparisons??
no mate ....def wasnt a nail....very nice looking motor, weird exhaust set up and everything lol.
was a white 5 dr privately run i think between 2 drivers.
well he was running late, he was up til 5 this morning re-wiring an m3 thats converted from diesel to petrol in the britcar champ, it was at brands this afternoon, if the truck made it there lol....then he had to map it......sounded lovely....... so he was kinda knackered lol
it was getting...
wayne at chip wizards is doing it mate. just left there now, its running around 250 at the mo but theres still a few little problems that need ironing out.
it idles fine now, which the last mapper couldnt get right in 3 weeks apparently...took wayne 5 mins. and it doesnt hesitate like fuk...
touch wood it should all be sorted very soon. its going for the bracket repairing after the mot. and the re-map next week. just a few more issues to sort after that. now the days seem to be getting a bit warmer/brighter/longer i can actually do stuff to it.
should be drivable by time its...
aye......like the last boro meet up at the whitehouse then onto the dragstrip....know the roads like back of my hand but was deemed mental/lunatic/accident waiting to happen etc on here. reckon i could have done most of them in the van too hehe
was much easier in the williams tho ;)...
lol....iv seen a few near misses on the c&f/snakes pass on cs meets gone by.
had 1 unfortunate soul spin in front of me once too......lol that was fun. ;)
lol....thought youd have been used to the snow after our little run out in it yesterday.....and i do hope you werent cainin it down bacup rd last night ;) hehe. the joys of knowing the road like the back of your hand huh?? lol
again....depends on the outlet. the only warranty work carried out on mine in 8 years its been fitted is the yearly once over check needed to keep the warranty going.
seems like you choose some really s**t places to work.....lol
was going to say....things could be worse, you could have a ps3.
they are shite.
as above tho really, send it off get it fixed, or go get an elite. had a ps3 for about 12-18 months now, think its been played on about 4 times.....yes they really are that bad
for y??
surely u realise thats how ALL cars used to be before the 'safety/heavier' brigade came into the fore
btw....isnt that wheel supposed to be jons?
