As it was about time for a major service i took the chance to get a few other niggling problems sorted as well. Had all the work done at Arnold Clark Warrington, not the best service but i got the parts cheap.:D
As well as the normal service malarkey, the following were replaced...

Hi all,
Could someone PS me this image of my 172 with matt anthracite wheels.
Also any other colours than you think might look good, as i think anthracite has been done to death now...unless they look that good. ;)
Use both images if possible.
Many thanks!
Chris
With the help of ben_p and Fred i fitted my buckets on Saturday as well as my Sabelt harnesses and pads.
Thanks to the lower driving position it feels like a different car, like a kart!
Only thing i have to get used to is getting in the car without looking like a tart.
I left the rear seats...
As above, from stripped out track cars to recliners. Anything goes.
I'm fitting mine tomorrow and want some inspiration (and motivation!) to do them.
I have Sabelt 4 points to go in too, and a false floor to replace the rear seats.
Where is the best place to mount the harnesses from? I...
Hi,
My car has recently started to idle at around 1000rpm as opposed to the normal 850ish rpm.
It can idle anywhere between 1000rpm and 1250rpm, especially when depressing the clutch approaching a junction for example.
Does the car just need a good service?...
Or is it something i've...
Hi all,
I'm fitting buckets to my 172 Mk1 on Saturday and would like to know what to expect in terms of warning lights appearing.
As the buckets have no side airbags how do i bypass the warning light?
Also i will be changing the steering wheel soon enough and would like to know if the...
Hi all,
Could someone handy with photoshop make my wheels anthracite. I'm toying with the idea at the moment but i'm not fully sure whether to go down that route...again!
Any suggestions or comments are always welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
As above!

Any pics would be great.
Many thanks,

The car was due for its weekly punishment. Noth Wales was too far. Snake Pass & the A537 were bound to be packed with slow traffic.
So instead i had a blit of a tool around the various B-Roads around Knutsford, Macclesfield and Northwich. Found a couple of crackers too, although its a bit sh*t...
Decided to sod it and order the H&R coilovers on my credit card next month since you can buy them through K-Tec now.
Here is a quick ps of how it should sit. Would anyone be able to tell me if i could keep the arch liners in at this height?
I think it looks low enough tbh although im sure...
A few pics from today. ben_p and JPW172 couldnt make it. Dave (flame red) dutty_112 (black) and myself met up and then had an interesting tussle with a V6 Vectra on the way home.:devilish:

Was gonna come over but i think you had youre missus with you... and from past experience, chicks dont dig the whole "are you Mike_SE from cs?" thing.
Plus, i was p*ssed.
Not seen the Old King since i got back from New York and he is still after a Mk1 172 as a weekend car..... any minters for sale? - PM me.
So we both cleaned the old girl up and PCd her for the first time with Meguires products. Then set on getting her some cold air to suck on.
As you can...
After 3 wheel changes, 1 breakdown (not me) and some chavs, i changed my gunmetal Mk2 wheels for the weekend to something a bit more track:devilish:
Many thanks to Winston, who initially swapped his polished willy wheels with dutty_112s Turinis........until he found out his car was so low at...
just toying with this look but it would be greatly appreciated if some one could photoshop the following onto my 172.
Black headlight clusters (non-angel eye) like the ones K-Tec sell.

I flew back in from the u.s (new york then onto florida) yesterday and didnt get chance to put my new plates on and wash the 172 before i went.
Got some new plates after i really went off the 3/4 size item at the front, the new ones are completely plain with standard lettering and spacing...
With thanks to niksmith, here is my car...euro style.
H&Rcoilovers are up next month anyway, but this just looks too cool not to look into it. IMO. I realise its not everyones cuppa frogs. But thats why im posting in the first place...opinions.

I thought id post this up as i have just returned from getting some early morning Optimax, and no less than 4 non-RS Clios have tried it on with me.

A few pics from todays activities. Met up with Lloyd V as he swapped headlights with Immi. Lloyd had the pre 05 spec black ones and wanted a swap. Bumper off is a 10 min job apart from when you nearly drop the whole lot on the floor, sorry mate.:oops...
I was driving out of Lincoln and saw you coming the other way, past the old racecourse. Would have been about 11.20am.
The car had a cup splitter on.
