yep is exactly the same part that blaupunkt lead,these are available for all makes of radio,im using one in my pioneer unit,
the part on amazon you are referring to is possible to use,connect it to the blaupunkt lead but there will be no difference in sound quality
using the mic youd just hear what you said already doing that...pointless
but you can hook your phone up to play music if you can make the phono version then order a lead from sony ericcson or any other site that does it
tom tom 910 has a replacement,920 if your interested
910 has loooads of extras,however for a similar price garmin 660fm does all the same AND you can have the satnav instructions done through the radio

none have a 3.5mm jack,none have phonos,
you need to get a lead like this

or you can get them pre made...
get a screwdriver which lights up to tell you there is power,only 2 quid from halfords,then use it to check which is ignition live and permanent live,as above the yellow is earth,the other 2 are the power
